CPLN Area Partnership in conjunction with National College of Ireland are currently
recruiting for a new Business Studies course, FREE to people in receipt of Job Seekers
Allowance or Benefit for 3 months or more.

Programme Overview

This is a foundation programme that will give you a fantastic introduction to all areas of
business. It allows you to gain skills and a recognised qualification in business. The
course covers areas like customer service, communication skills, business calculations
and people management. This programme is unique in that It includes a three week work
placement so you can apply your new skills in a real working environment and help you
gain the confidence and experience to get back into the workforce

Course Content:
    Communications
    Personal Effectiveness in the Workplace
    Customer Service
    Business Calculations
    Information and communication
    Business Administration
    Sector Specific Elective Modules
    and 3 Weeks work placement

Who is the Programme for?

The course is open to all those who have been in receipt of Job seekers Allowance or
Benefit for a period of at least 3 consecutive months. Time spent on training of education
programmes will be reckonable for this three month period.

The course is appropriate if you have had limited formal education. It will also be
relevant if you have qualifications in another area and wish to pursue a business
qualification and take part in work experience as a bridge back into the workforce. All the
subjects covered are dealt with in a very practical way by expert lecturers. If you are
coming back to education after a period away or have left school at an early age you will
be supported to help you get the most from the course.

12 Weeks Full-time (includes 3 weeks work placement). Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm

The Certificate in Business Studies is awarded by FETAC and is a level 5 major award
recognised under the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ).
