     We are a group of people who work together to
      identify the priority prevention and care needs in
      Iowa, and make recommendations on how to meet
      those needs.

                        What is the Ryan White
                 AIDS
                          CARE Act?
               The Comprehensive AIDS Resources
                Emergency (CARE) Act of 1990.
               Program is administered by the Health
                Resources and Services Administration (HRSA)
               It provides funding to state, cities, and nonprofit
                entities to deliver essential health care and
                support services to medically under-served
                individuals and families affected by HIV
                disease.

     It is the CPG‟s responsibility to review the health
      department‟s application to CDC for HIV
      prevention funding to determine whether it
      “matches” the priorities set forth in the
      comprehensive HIV prevention plan.
     In other words, the resources allocated in the
      health department‟s application to CDC should
      reflect the target populations and selected
      interventions in the comprehensive plan.
