Mekong River is very important river for Myanmar and Laos because of it was flow along the border line between the two countries.
Basic Legislation Framework of Tourism Industry in Myanmar
Ministry of Hotels & Tourism was formed in 1993.

RESOURCES
The library, which is available for use by all course participants, consists of technical books on hotel and tourism, books on history, culture, arts, architecture, Buddhism and product knowledge of Myanmar, and discipline wise training films and slides. For language studies, there are books on French, English and Myanmar languages. The training center also has a language laboratory to give opportunities for trainees to practice their language skills. There are 16 booths in the laboratory and each booth has a cassette and a headset for a student to practice separately or being monitored by language instructor.

Conclusion
This subregional workshop aims to bring together key stakeholders (tourism responsible authorities, stakeholders as well as those from education sectors, private sector, representatives of international organizations and donor countries and agencies ADB, WB/IFC, AFD, GTZ and SNV.
This regional workshop aims to discuss the situation of Vocational training in the tourism sector and more particularly in the hospitality industry and elaborate possible solutions to address the lack of qualified staff that is key to providing good services to all target markets and spread the qualitative image of the destination.
