The Future of Education E-Rate 101 and Eligibility DMS (Digital

Reviews
You have been invited to attend the Technology Education Conference of 2009 held at the Isleta Resort and Conference Center in Albuquerque, NM on October 13th and 14th. This is a free seminar on software for education, grants, Cisco Digital Media System, IP video surveillance, E-Rate, and leveraging technologies for the next generation. More information about the topics that will be covered at the conference and what you can expect at the conference itself follows. The Future of Education Jeff Billings is the Director of Technologies at PVUSD. He has experienced a multitude of technology changes along with PVUSD’s growth. Jeff’s presentation will be on convergence and how technology is already overlaying education as well as how children today are absorbing information by using all forms of media. E-Rate 101 and Eligibility Ray Mendiola of E-Rate Success Strategies is the former Manager of Special Investigations for USAC, the E-Rate Administrator. As such, he knows the many mistakes applicants make which can end up costing your district all of its E-Rate funding or worse. In his presentation, Ray will explain the E-Rate Program with a high-level introduction. Then, he will focus on the three things that can spell disaster for your district: failure to pay your non-discount share, failure to meet every deadline imposed by USAC, and, most importantly, failure to conduct a fair and open competitive bidding process. Given his extensive experience within the E-Rate Program, Ray is uniquely qualified to teach us and prepare us to win with E-Rate. DMS (Digital Media System) As we move into the next generation of children, we need to be aware of what it takes to hold their attention. A DMS can be a rich media content provider and incorporate some of the facilities that are already in existing schools. Software Solutions for Education With all of the media being discussed, it is important to have software that integrates all end devices and platforms. A true final solution includes the software needed to communicate on all levels. IP Video Surveillance IP is highly available today. Most devices no longer need legacy cabling and equipment to operate. Surveillance cameras are no exception. IP brings anytime / anywhere access to the need for surveillance throughout the global network in a school. Where? Isleta Casino & Resort 11000 Broadway SE Albuquerque, NM 87105 When?
