Preface and Manufacturer’s Declaration

With the single-cell mageba expansion joints TENSA®GRIP SILENT, type RS-LS100, very low-noise
expansion joint units capable of absorbing expansions of up to 95 mm with a gap of 100 mm, can be
offered.
The company mageba invented expansion joints in rib construction more than 40 years ago. This
type of construction has since proven globally successful. Experience gained during application has
since been used for continuous development and improvement. Due to the continuously growing
need for noise-reduction expansion joints, mageba developed a system that uses ‘Sinus Plates’ for
low-noise construction. This principle has also been applied to individual expansion joints.
Because the [German] Federal Ministry for Traffic, Construction and Urban Development issued the
regular test endorsement, a significantly simplified testing method for expansion joints tested
according to TL/TP FÜ (as of 03/05) is now permitted. This regular test is based on extensive
experimental and mathematical investigations.
mageba states herewith that all expansion joints subject to a regular test according to TL/TP FÜ (as
of 03/05), are engineered according to all “documents with regular test endorsement”, as well as the
applicable third-party monitoring contract for quality control.
