false pretense. He was trying to sell an unknown
liquid to a woman to treat her cancer.

16 of which were “practicing medicine without a
license” or permit and causing harm. She disfigured
women from fake cosmetic procedures by injecting
them with mineral oil instead of cosmetic materials.
Police are searching for her partner, Penelope,
legally known as Meliton Serafin-Reye.

Andersson, Timothy Syed 02/08/2010 San Francisco Chronicle CA Age 66. Andersson said he was dermatologist to the
stars. After finding his credentials and research
manufactured he was charged in San Francisco
Superior Court with 51 counts, including practicing
medicine without a license. Andersson stated he
received a medical degree in Pakistan, however no
proof he ever received a license has been found. He
was also implicated in a fraud scheme in Sweden.
Andrew, Michael 08/23/2005 Consumer Health Digest “From May 2001 until May 2003, Michael Andrew
#05-34 misrepresented himself as a surgeon and graduate
of Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He
served as chief executive officer of Meadows
Diagnostic Imaging Center in Henderson, Colorado
and supervised at least ten contrast x-ray
procedures while pretending to be a physician.
(During such procedures, a dye is injected into the
patient to highlight the areas that are being studied.
A physician's presence is necessary in case the dye
causes anaphylactic shock, a potentially fatal allergic
reaction.) Michael had received a bachelor's degree
from the now-defunct Hamilton University; a
nonaccredited online school based in Wyoming, and

– 2004 although he as never been a licensed
physician.

doctor, he was charged with practicing medicine
without a license and under an assumed name.

psychiatric jobs in NZ before disappearing in 1997.
Astor worked in several US states as a psychiatrist,
where INS is currently holding her. Trained in native

could kill approx. 100 people. Possessing the toxin is

Saifee Hospital, working for almost a year in the
intensive care unit and marrying a fellow doctor. His
wife became suspicious, then her parents checked
into Bader‟s certificate with the university where they

Baluchi, Bariol 11/06/2006 UK Age 45. A bogus doctor who duped the Home Office,

Baluchi changed his name 20 times since arriving
from Iran in 1979, is currently serving a 10 year jail

Barnes, Gerald AKA Gerald 09/30/2000 Beloit Daily News (WI) CA Age 67. U S marshals arrested Barnes in N.
Barnbaum Hollywood nearly 1 month after he was supposed to
enter a minimum security Illinois prison. 1st
conviction in 1981 a 3-year prison sentence for
involuntary manslaughter. Practiced medicine again
and served another prison term, but was back in
custody for posing as a doctor in 1989. In 1996 he
was sentenced to the current prison term of 12
years.

Bass, Bernard Dr 08/14/2008 Ventura County Star CA Age 61. Bass was arrested for writing prescriptions
after he had surrendered his medical license. He
pleaded not guilty. He is also being charged by the
Medical Board of California for a variety of violations.

Beaudrie, David Anthony 12/02/2006 St. Petersburg Times FL Age 41. Beaudrie, injecting an undercover police
deputy with what was supposedly collagen. When he
was stopped, he said the syringe was water, not
collagen. He was charged with 1 count of practicing
medicine without a license and fraud. Beaudrie
advertised cosmetic treatments. He is licensed by
the Florida Board of Cosmetology as a facial
specialist.

Daprano, Louis 10/25/2008 Albuquerque Journal NM Age 59. Daprano was sentenced to 45 yrs and will
have to serve at least 85 percent. He was convicted
on 3 counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor,
two counts of practicing medicine without a license,
43 counts of practicing psychology without a license
and charges of contributing to the delinquency of a
minor, extortion and attempt to commit a felony.
The acts occurred between April and June 2004.
David, Anthony James 10/12/2007 St. Petersburg Times FL Age 30. David is a landscaper whom at an
orthopedics clinic examined one person and gave
another prescription drugs. He also had a parking
pass that allowed him to park in the physicians‟ lot.
Tampa General initially became aware of David when
he tried to obtain a hospital photo ID. When the
police went to arrest him he was in scrubs and had
told his parents he was going to work at the
hospital. He was arrested on 3 counts of practicing
medicine without a license, grand theft and
possession with intent to deliver prescription drugs.

Omar Abisaid Sarabia Esparza 04/08/2010 Medical Board of CA
California The Medical Board of California investigators served
a search warrant and arrest warrant today. Omar
Abisaid Sarabia Esparza and Ezequiel Sanchez
Solorzano were arrested for practicing medicine
without a license, aiding and abetting, and selling
misbranded drugs Medical Board investigators, along
with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement
(ICE) agents, conducted an investigation for several
months. Esparza and Solorzano were treating
patients at a residence where they were selling and
dispensing misbranded drugs. An undercover
investigation was conducted by a Medical Board
investigator who was treated and given medication.
The activity was brought to the attention of ICE and
the Medical Board by the husband of a patient who
was given an injection and suffered side effects.

Faiello, Dean 02/19/2004 NY Times NY & NJ Age 44. On 26 June 2003 Faiello plead guilty to
practicing cosmetic medicine without a license and
conspiracy, a charge relating to illegal distribution of
pharmaceuticals. Faiello ran a „skin & laser center‟ on
the upper east side. He disappeared before
sentencing and is believed to be in Costa Rica. A
woman missing since April 2003 was found buried at
his former home in Newark. It is believed she died
from a botched cosmetic surgery.

children being over medicated and poor supervision
when a boy died.
