wifi problems with ubuntu.?
ok so i just finished building my computer. it has no drivers installed. i ran ubuntu from a cd, and tried to install it, but it said i needed to be connected to the
internet, so i clicked "try ubuntu" so i could connect to the internet from there before installing it, but the network connections does not pick up my router. i
searched through the additional drivers and i cant seem to find any relating to the wifi thing. (lol im kinda a newb at this.)

Tether to the router, then with the WiFi hardware "on", 'scan' for Networks. My HP install then had some splash screens about 'proprietary' drivers.do you want to
get them?' which I clicked through; got them and they self installed with a little clicking. Give that a shot.
