Story: The Story of the Candy Cane

Many, many, many, many years ago at least 150 or more….

You see there was this candy maker who wanted to honour the birth of Jesus with a very special type of
candy. First, he knew that it had to be a hard candy, not a soft, squishy kind. Because believing in Jesus is as
solid as a rock! God’s promises are a firm foundation for us to build our lives upon. Next, he shaped the
candy into a “J” to stand for the precious name of Jesus.

The white stripes mean that Jesus is pure and He never sinned. White stands for purity which means Jesus
was always perfect. Because no one living in this world is perfect. The red stripes on the candy cane stands
for the blood that Jesus gave when He died for our sins. If we love Him, then in His eyes we are perfect.

Craft: Candy Cane Reindeer
Joeys glue on wiggly eyes, pom-pom nose and antlers to make a reindeer.

Activity: Christmas Cards Puzzle
Christmas Cards are cut into 4 pieces. Given one piece, Joey locates pieces from the rest of the card scattered
on the floor.
