THIS WILL BE THE LAST NEWSLETTER OF 2009

FROM THE DESK OF THE PRESIDENT – Harry Helfrich

If you get this newsletter before Christmas, we hope you have a very Merry Christmas. If you receive this
newsletter after Christmas we hope you had a very Merry Christmas and have a very Happy New Year.

There will be some changes made in 2010. We will no longer be sending the newsletters via email. The
newsletters will be on the brpc1.org web site for all of you who have computers.

The dates that the newsletters will be posted on the web site are March, May, Sept and Nov. We will try to get
them on the web site by the middle of each of the months listed. Members that do not have access to the
internet, please let us know and we will put you on the mailing list.

The BRPC office will be closed after the semi-annual membership meeting on June 5, 2010. We will not be
processing renewals or taking new memberships during the months of June, July and August. When the office
reopens on September 1, 2010, we will resume processing renewals and taking new memberships.

Although the office will be closed, the range will be open to the public on Tues, Thursday, Sat. and Sunday;
during the hours are 8:00 A.M. till 4:00 P.M. Boulder Rifle and Pistol Club members will have access all year.

We are sorry that the range was closed to the memberships at times this year. We will not be closing the range
for extended periods except for club activities. When we do have to close, we will have part of the range open
for members.

FROM THE DESK OF THE RANGE OFFICER – Bob Raider

The Board has been asked to provide an archery range and targets. We would like to know how many members
would participate in this activity. Please email or call the club office if you would like this to be done.

The member's shotgun area faces the city landfill. For this reason we have shot size limitations for this area.
Anything larger than #6 could fly into the landfill and strike one of the workers. This will surely cause a
problem for the club. Please do not shoot anything larger than #6. NO 00, SLUGS or #4. Since those loads are
useless for clay pigeons, please keep them in the action pits.

JUNIORS PROGRAM – Bob Raider

The Juniors Shooting Program is for youth from twelve to eighteen years of age. Participants learn firearm
safety, proper use of firearms and marksmanship. Care and cleaning of the firearm are also covered. Club
membership is not a requirement. However a parent/guardian should be present at the start of the day’s
activities.

The club provides firearms, ammunition, targets and certified instructors. Firearms are selected based on the
youth’s ability to safely handle the various types of rifles and shotguns available. We meet on the first Saturday
of each month at 10:30 A.M. Depending on the planned activity, we meet at either the classroom trailer or in
one of the courtesy range shooting bays. Ending time depends on the program for the day.

If you need more information please call or email the club office.

iron sighted rifles at 200, 300, and 600 yards. This is conducted on the 4th Sunday morning of each month
starting at 08:00am

NRA approved 1000 yard matches are conducted whenever there is a 5th Sunday morning in a month. This is
shot with either scoped or iron sighted rifles from the prone position. Starting time is 07:00am

SILHOUETTE – Joe Brennan

Vintage Military Rifle Silhouette shoots the first Sunday of every month. Any WWII or older military rifle
from any country will be acceptable.

The Flavor of The Month special event will be the M1 Garand. The weapon was adopted by the United States
Army in 1936 for use as our Service Rifle. It was the first self-loading rifle to be of general issue in any army.
It was introduced five years before the Pearl Harbor attack and proclaimed by General George S. Patton as "The
greatest implement of battle ever devised". It served throughout World War II and in Korea. An American
Icon, the M1 Garand is historically one of the greatest battle rifles of all times.

The M1 event will be an issue-ammo match. Each shooter will receive one bandoleer of ammo in 8 round clips
($20). All will shoot the same ammo. This is the latest ammo from the CMP.

You can shoot 2 rifles if you like, one in each event, or one event. Set up is at 8 am. Shooting starts at 9 am.
ELDORADO COWBOYS – Nancy Myers

Here we are at the end of another year. It is hard to believe how fast the time has passed. The Eldorado
Cowboys hosted two annual matches during 2009 – Best Shoot by a Dam Site and Eldorado SASS Nevada
State Championship, as well as ten two day monthly shoots. We thank everyone for their support,
understanding and encouragement. It is appreciated.

We have submitted our event dates for 2010 and have posted our monthly shoot days in the Range Officer
Office. We are looking forward to our continued good relationship with Boulder Rifle and Pistol Club. What a
great bunch of people to know and work with.

Our monthly shoots are the first Sunday of each month and the Saturday before. The main match starts at 9:00.
If you have not seen Cowboy Action Shooting, please come out and watch. We will be more than happy to
explain our discipline to you. Who knows, you might want to join the fun.

If you want to know more about Cowboy Action Shooting, just go on the web site at www.nevadacas.com.
When you get there, you will find all of the clubs in Nevada listed where you can link to see what is going on.
We hope you will link onto Eldorado Cowboys and then come on out.

The Eldorado Cowboys wish everyone a Happy Holiday Season and our Best Wishes for the New Year.

Happy Holidays from Boulder Rifle and Pistol Club and
           all of the shooting disciplines.
