You are invited to check it out at www.ansonvillebaptist.org. The Baptist Men’s Group has been busy with several missions projects and have been busy “sprucing up” the grounds of the parsonage and the church. Alan Hartsell and Tommy Allen are doing a great job leading our men. Our Baptist Men meet every fourth Sunday morning at 8:30 for Breakfast/Bible Study. Rev. Jeff Glenn is pastor (704-826-8238). Cedar Grove - VBS begins on Saturday, June 20th with kick-off at 5:00 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs and join Cedar Grove for an evening of fun! The cost is free; however the church is collecting donations of canned food items to support the Stanly County Food Pantry. The church youth will present “The Awakening,” a teen Christian Rock Group. Come on out for great music and a free hot dog dinner. VBS begins on Sunday, June 21st going through Thursday, June 25th with commencement on Friday, June 26th. The spaghetti meal provided by the Youth on Saturday, May 30th raised funds for their trip to White Lake. Cedar Grove will observe Homecoming the second Sunday in August with revival beginning that day. “As we pray for your church, please pray for ours.” Rev. Mark Swaringen is pastor (704-332-9160). Deep Creek - June 7 - Honored nine graduates, ranging from Kindergarten through College. That afternoon celebrated the 90th Birthday of Ms. Louise Watson Shepherd, given by her family at her home. The Ladies Bible Study group will meet on Tuesdays at 7:00 PM from June 23rd thru Aug. 4th. The Study will be: "Me, Myself and Lies" by Jennifer Rothschild, which teaches how to guard what we say to ourselves. June 27 - Summertime Seniors Supper at 5:30 PM. Rev. Jerry Roertson is pastor (704-851-3266). Polkton - The children's ministry sponsored a spaghetti supper and bake sale on June 6th. The money collected will be used for mission projects. Backyard Bible Clubs began July 6-9 at the Field of Dreams in Polkton. Follow-up from these events will be held on Saturday's at the church. Rev. Darrin Moore is pastor (704-2728634). Rocky River - Lauren Helms was awarded a Bible for her Graduation. She has been home schooled, and her parents, Louis and Karen Eason, say she was a very good student. The Youth hosted Fiesta Night on May 9th, and served delicious Mexican dishes. They sponsored a booth at the Burnsville Springfest, where they sold nachos. On May 30th, they showed the movie “End of the Spear” outside at the church for Family Movie Night. They washed 40 vehicles (including some service trucks!) at a carwash on June 6th. All these activities were to raise money for the Mission Trip to Mississippi in July. The Baptist Women had a bake sale and sold cookbooks at the Springfest for their mission work. The VBS had a table set up to preregister for Vacation Bible School. The kids enjoyed riding on the Rocky River float and carrying the banner for VBS. The pastor and VBS director followed (or chased) the float and gave cold water to thirsting onlookers, proclaiming, “Jesus is the LIVING water!” Also in May, the church greatly enjoyed attending the Power Team Crusade. A teacher’s meeting was held in June for the Missions Trip and upcoming VBS to be held June 28th through July 2nd. There will be classes for all ages and everyone is invited to join us. Many of the Youth will be teaching VBS on the Mission Trip, so Bible School at Rocky River will be good training. Please help us pray God’s blessing on these two upcoming events, that souls will be saved. Dennis Stegall is pastor (704-826-8588). Southside - VBS is scheduled for June 22nd- 25th from 6:00 - 8:30 p.m. Commencement is the 25th at 7:00 p.m. Rev. Lou Shephard is pastor (704-694-6698). Many of us feel this way about our grandparents, parents, siblings, spouses, children, grandchildren and other relatives. A wonderful way a Christian family can extend its love is by establishing a permanent Family Endowment for ministry causes dear to the family. For as little as $100.00, any Baptist family can start an Endowment that will permanently benefit the cause of Christ through the local church, association, or one of our fine Baptist institutions or mission offerings. The endowment can bear the family name and future donations can be made on such special occasions as birthday, anniversaries, and as Christmas gifts. Contact Charles Fox, the Central Area Manager of the North Carolina Baptist Foundation at 866922-2574 or by email at cfox@ncbaptistfoundation.org for additional details on how you can extend your family’s love through a continuing gift to missions until Jesus returns. Thank You Lord For Opportunities To Serve What a wonderful time we had under the tent with the Power Team! I want to thank each of you who worked in any way, for it was your prayers, efforts, and the convicting power of the Holy Spirit that brought forth such a harvest of souls. Over one hundred people saved; praise the Lord! Now it is time to turn our attention to Vacation Bible School. Many of you will be involved in teaching, music, missions, snacks and recreation. I have been praying for each of you that the Lord would give you strength, wisdom, and compassion for the days you invest yourself in the expansion of his kingdom. Realize that you are His ambassadors and servants. The children that attend are his gifts to you to nurture and guide to him as their savior. God has given you an awesome responsibility – serve him well. As I have shared before, I want to remind you of the Baptist Men’s Mission Trip to Camp Duncan June 24-27. By the time you receive this newsletter it will be too late to sign-up to go, but we will have another mission trip shortly after school starts in the fall. We are trying to provide mission experiences for those who cannot take off a week to 10 days to go to another state or foreign country. The Baptist Men’s Leadership Team will be meeting on June 23 to plan the rest of this year’s Baptist Men’s events. We will inform each church and Baptist Men’s group of those plans by flyers and in the newsletter. Dr. Robert L.
