                        Peter Valenzuela, M.D., M.B.A., regional chair
                        for the department of Family Medicine and Chau
                        Le, M.D., program director for the Geriatric
                        Fellowship, were both appointed associate
                        professors by Steven Berk, M.D., dean of the
                        School of Medicine.
                        Valenzuela was also recently approved to be
                        a Certified Physician Executive (CPE) by the
                        Certifying Commission on Medical Management.

                                               Charles Sponsel, D.O., has been elected to the 2009 Permian Basin

                            SON Announces Expansion
                            Traditional undergraduate program announced

                            The Anita Thigpen Perry School of Nursing will expand its traditional       Cookie

                            This is the first time the SON has offered a traditional classroom program
                            at the regional campuses.
                            Recently, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board announced
                            the Perry School of Nursing as number one in the state for 2008
