Hope everyone is doing great. Memorial Day is now behind us and we are looking forward to the Fourth of July. We have elected our new 2573 officers and they will take command in July and I am proud to announce our first female Jr. Vice Commander, Mrs. Anna Allegretto. She is a retired Navy Chief and comes to us from the Naval Reserve. Meet your new officers at the July 21st meeting at 1900. Quarter Master Report Special Guest
On Sunday May 29th we had a very special guest come by the post. His name June has been a good month at the Post. Our is Sheldon (Bud) Silva. Mr. Silva joined the membership is holding strong. We anticipate it VFW in 1947 after leaving the ARMY in 1946 as a 1st Scout where he served in the to increase with the addition of the Marine European Theater. The post at the time Corp League and the Chief’s Mess who will was at 2nd and Princess St. The picture now start meeting at the post. In your day to that he is holding on the cover he took in day activities, if you meet any new veterans 1947 and gave to his brother John Silva. please encourage them to join. (pictured in the photograph on left) This picture still hangs today at the post. We July will be a busy time for us. As you can see had a great time speaking to Mr. Silva from our calendar there is quite a lot scheduled. Please make every effort to attend and his family. He had a lot of history about the post that he shared with us. He all our functions. We always look forward to seeing everyone. I would like to wish everyone currently lives in Titusville, FL but visits family here in Wilmington as much as he a great and safe 4th of July can. We look forward to his next visit. Civil Air Patrol Men’s Auxiliary
Post 2573 is pleased to announce we are I hope everyone had a good month of June. I now home to the Civil Air Patrol. They meet every Monday at 7:00 pm We look also would like to thank all the members that forward to working with these cadets. have assisted in the projects at the post. We have recently repainted the parking lot lines at the post to help enhance the appearance of Yard Sale the grounds. With the addition of the Civil Air Patrol we have changed our meetings to the Our yard sale on the 23rd was a great 4th Tuesday of the month at 1900 hrs. Flag Disposal
Post 2573 accepts worn and tattered flags for proper disposal. Flags are accepted at the Canteen any day after 12 noon.
Canteen News Come out for the July 4th Celebration. Hot Dogs and Hamburgers provided, please bring covered dish. 4 pm - until. Don’t forget Karaoke starts at 8 pm.

Chief’s Mess
We are excited to announce that we are joining with Wilmington NOSC Chief’s Mess and will begin meetings at the VFW on the first drill weekend of each month. In order to contact all Chiefs, those that are VFW members are encouraged to e-mail your name, rank, and ph. # to walkerskc@gmail.com. We will send out reminders of meetings. At 1430 each first drill weekend, following the Mess meeting, we are having a 3rd Muster at the Canteen. Everyone is invited to come and have a good time. On July 11th, we will be holding our monthly fundraiser and grilling chicken. We look forward to seeing all of you there.

VFW Post 2573 is consistently working on projects to enhance the beauty and quality of the Post and Canteen as well as performing constant repairs and maintenance. Donations to the Post can be made with a entry on the check for “Building and Grounds” The Post Quartermaster will send out a tax contribution letter for all donations made. Thank you
