half hour, then turn around and walk a half hour back to the café for coffee and/or brunch about 10:15
am. You don't have to make the hike to come to coffee! Directions to Lakeside Café: From northbound

next to the parking lot. For more information contact Ed Austin at 650-969-3384 or

Saturday, July 4. Dinner & Fireworks. Shoreline Park, Mtn. View. Cost of food.
Join us for dinner at Michael's Restaurant at Shoreline Park in Mtn. View, then watch the fireworks
program at Shoreline Amphitheatre from the patio. Michael's serves good food at reasonable
prices. The fireworks will start around 9:30pm, but you can come any time to eat or enjoy
the park. We'll save some seats on the far right side of the outdoor patio as early as
6:000pm. Bring money for your food, warm clothing, and a portable chair or blanket if you
                want to sit elsewhere.

Directions: Take Hwy. 101 to Shoreline Exit north to N. Shoreline Blvd. Drive past the
Amphitheatre and go through the gate at the entrance to Shoreline Park. Drive 0.9 mi.
through the park to Michaels Restaurant on your left at 2960 N. Shoreline Blvd. NOTE: To
avoid the Shoreline traffic snarl at evenings end, you can take the San Antonio Rd. exit from 101 and
drive north to the end at Terminal Blvd. and turn right. Go to end of road and park at the entrance to the
San Francisco Bay Trail. Walk 1/2 mile around Shoreline Lake east to Michael's Restaurant (bring a
flashlight for the return trip). As that area can also be jammed after the fireworks, another option is to
take the pedestrian underpass on Fabian Way/W. Bayshore Dr. and walk under 101 to Terminal Blvd. and
around the lake to Michaels Restaurant. Total walking distance is about 1 mile. To get there from 101,
take the San Antonio Rd. exit south and turn right onto Charleston, then right onto Fabian Way. The
underpass is located 0.7 mi north, next to Kiki's Restaurant (now closed). There is street parking nearby.
