Details page 5 CFN HOTLINE 949-651-9174 President’s Message Hello fellow CFN members: This is my first newsletter as president of CFN, so I would like to tell you a little bit about myself. I was born in Hastings and my family moved to California when I was 5 years old. I grew up in Buena Park, CA and went to Savanna High School in Anaheim. I graduated from Long Beach State in 1977 with a degree in Accounting. I am currently the CFO of Petro Diamond Inc. in Irvine, CA., I have worked here for the last 28 years. I live in Irvine, with my wife Rhonda and son Todd. Our daughter Rochelle lives in Brookings, SD with her family, and our son Marc is living in Wellington, New Zealand with his new wife. I have been a Husker fan since the mid 1960's. I listened to Husker games on CFN's radio broadcast for as long as I can remember. Times have changed and now days I listen to Husker games on the internet or watch the games at CFN watch sites. I became involved in the leadership of CFN about 8 years ago when I volunteered to head the CFN migration game and have been involved ever since. Past presidents Dave McGowan, Kent Wiedel and David Max have done a great job in leading CFN over the past few years, hopefully I can lead CFN over the next two years by following their example. David Max has turned over the reigns with CFN in very good shape, membership is up and he has developed this online newsletter that is now available to all members that have an email address. A printed version will continue to be mailed to members with no email address. We continue our fund raising for the athletic department and our scholarship fund. This year CFN will again award a record 6 scholarships of $2,000 each to the following students; Alyson Alvarez, Matthew Gonzales, Jillian Schafer, Carson Allen Coles, Mauricio Lang, and Kelsie Schumaker, their bios are listed on page 4 of the newsletter. By supporting CFN you have made these scholarships possible, thanks again. a list of our watch sites, and we currently need hosts for 3 of the watch sites, The Beer Hunter in Cathedral City, The Graduate Restaurant in San Luis Obispo, and Max Sports Bar & Grill in Huntington Beach.
