Bee Safe in the Sun Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the U.S. It is also the most preventable. A history of severe sunburn and the use of tanning beds before the age of 18 are both widely considered to be closely related to the development of melanoma – the deadliest form of skin cancer, which is increasing at a rate of nearly 3% a year, and is occurring in an everyounger age group. Apply sunscreen (don’t forget the ears and back of neck). Wear protective clothing/hat. Limit exposure to the sun during peak hours.
