I hope you all have a wonderful summer break! Please go through the report card envelope carefully on Friday with your child. I will be sending a lot of final notes, information, etc. home that day! Thanks for a GREAT year! Please keep in touch! I will miss you all!
Well...we made it! Please don’t forget that this Friday, May 29th is the LAST day of school! Dismissal will be at 10:50 a.m. Please know how your child will be getting home that day and if it’s different from the “norm”, please send in a note that morning! Report cards will be going home that day too. Have a great summer and ENJOY every minute of it!

We finished our “Young Author’s Fair” today. Their books with final comments from classmates and me will be coming home either today or tomorrow. We will begin cleaning out our desks today. If you haven’t sent in a two-handled big bag with your child yet, please do so as soon as possible. Thanks! We had our class spelling bee today using words that they’ve seen all year...the three finalists will compete in the “All Second Grade Spelling Bee” tomorrow, (Wednesday) as long as Track n’ Field Day didn’t need to be moved! I will send emails to those children’s parents who will be competing in case you want to come in to watch them! (It’s scheduled to be tomorrow at 12:30 p.m. in our 2nd grade pod!) Track n’ Field Day is today...if there’s no rain! :) We will be taking the READS test on the computer one final time tomorrow. The results of the “reading level” that your child finished on will be on their report card. Please READ a lot with them over the summer! The children took an “End of the Year” math test last week that covered ALL of the second grade standards that were taught this year. That test will be coming home in their report card envelope on Friday. Please review any missed areas with them over the summer! They also took an “End of the Year” reading test this week. Those will also be coming home with your child in their report card envelope on Friday. Please review those with them! We will be having an “Autograph Party” on Thursday. The yearbooks aren’t in yet, but if/when they do come in, please have your child bring that in to school to have their friends sign it. (Be sure that their name is in it!) If your child did not order a yearbook, I will have something for them that they can use to get signatures that day! On Friday, 5th grade graduation will be going on at 8:30 a.m. If your child has a sibling who is graduating that morning, they will be allowed to go watch them as long as I have a note from you. Please don’t forget that! After that, I will be having a special presentation of something that I made for the kids as a “good-bye present” from me. You are welcome to come watch that with us as well. The presentation will be in our room (room #8) at 9:30 a.m. on Friday morning. After that, I will have to excuse you so that I can have my final celebration party with the children.
