GAVI CSO Support Unit Pakistan Ministry of Health Terms of Reference for Photography Consultant Background: Government of Pakistan (GoP) through Ministry of Health (MoH) secured funds from Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI) to fill the existing gaps in the health sector including immunization, maternal and child health care and health system strengthening. This new GAVI window is to strengthen the network of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) in achieving Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) 4 & 5. Pakistan is one of the ten pilot countries successfully implementing this support through a consortium of 15 CSOs working in selected districts of Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhaw, Balochistan, AJK and Gilgit Baltistan. Since September 2009, CSOs are implementing their respective assignments and reporting to GAVI CSO Support Unit Pakistan. In order to document contribution of civil society in maternal and child health, GAVI CSO Support Unit would like to publish a booklet of successful Case Studies and share it with other GAVI eligible countries. Consultancy Title: Still Photography Total Positions: One (1) Type: Short Term Consultancy Contract Qualifications: Certificate in still photography Experience: 7 to 10 years of relevant experience Last Date to Apply: October 05, 2010 Services of a professional photographer with experience of previous work for the United Nations and International Non-Governmental Organisation are required to capture high resolution images of women and children in the target communities where the CSOs are implementing activities related to maternal and child health. Photographer will be required to travel to different field locations across the country to cover the work of 19 CSOs. Tasks: To capture high resolution images of individuals, families, groups, events at field locations for 25 selected case studies; Provide at least 15 selected images from each case study including portraits of women and children, training activities and community environment etc.; Caption each photograph with specific details such as geographical location, name of the person (for portraits), activity and any other relevant information. Captions should be embedded in the jpeg images and also provided in a separate text document. Skills Required: Knowledge and understanding of the development sector; Previous experience of working with UNICEF, other UN agencies, NGOs and INGOs. Availability and willingness to travel to remote areas of Pakistan; Ability to work in close coordination with other team members. Consultancy Duration: As many as 20 working days will be required for the assignment exclusive of travel time during a period of eight weeks between October 15 and December 15, 2010.
