GIVE THE BEST CHRISTMAS GIFT EVER! Do you remember the first time you suspected something odd about the way our families celebrated Christmas? My sense of fairness was disturbed fairly early by the realization that we were celebrating the birth of Jesus, but gave gifts to each other, instead of to Him. But my childish greed overcame my budding sense of Justice, and I did not complain too loudly. And anyway…How can you give a gift to the one by whom all things are held together and in whom they have their being? GIVE A TRULY SIGNIFICANT BIRTHDAY GIFT THIS CHRISTMAS! Jesus himself told us how. The start of the Christmas story is found in Luke 2, when Shepherds celebrated and Kings brought our Lord gifts. The final wrap up of the Christmas story can be found in Matthew 25. There we learn that Jesus will thank those who gave him gifts throughout the intervening years: Mt 25:31-40 "When the Son of man comes in his glory …the King will say to those at his right hand, 'Come, O blessed of my Father … for I was hungry and you gave me food, … I was naked and you clothed me, … Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see thee hungry and feed thee, … or naked and clothe thee? … And the King will answer them, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me.' We at Amor del Niño are doing just that: clothing and feeding the least among us here in Guatemala. You can join with us, and also share the joy of the season with designated friends and family members. Just keeping our babies fed with baby formula and milk, and then keeping them in dry and regularly changed diapers is quite a task, but it can be broken down into manageable chunks. Our costs: Diapers: $33/day or $231/Week or $990/month Milk and formula: $15/day or $100/week or $400/month Please consider giving a gift of food or clothing to these children instead of trying to decide between a fruitcake or necktie for Aunt Jane and Uncle Joe. Just fill out the accompanying ORDER FORM page, we will send your designees a decorative card telling them that [YOU] HAVE GIVEN A GIFT TO Amor del Niño IN [THEIR] NAME. It’s easy, and simple to decide, and it’s very significant in the grand scheme of things! How better to celebrate Christmas this year? If we have extra, we may even take the older children out for Christmas treats. Jose Thanks you in advance. Happy Birthday, Lord Jesus!
