Name Level 1/Unit 31 One and More Players: 2 Spelling Game You need: game cards from page 201 (copy, mount on tagboard, and cut out), list of Unit 31 Basic Words How to play: Some game cards show Basic Words that name one. Other game cards show pictures of Basic Words that name more than one. The object of the game is to match each word card with the picture card that shows its plural form. For example, the word card jet matches the picture card jets. 1. Shuffle the cards. Spread them face down in rows on a table or desk. 2. The first player turns over two cards. If the cards form a match, the player spells the plural form of the word and keeps both cards. 3. If the two cards do not match, the player returns them to their original position on the table. The same thing happens if the player misspells the plural form of the word. 4. Players alternate turns until all the cards have been matched. The player who collects the most cards wins.
