Job Title: Supply Chain Manager
Department: Supply Chain
Reporting To: UK Senior Vice President
Location: Maidenhead, Berkshire
Overview:

We are one of the most recognisable slimming organisation in the UK, running over
6,000 weight loss meetings per week as well as boasting an extensive licensed products
range sold at retail, on-line services and our own magazine.
Our UK headquarters are based centrally in Maidenhead, Berkshire, conveniently near
to the train station for direct links to London, and very close to the M4, M40 and the M3.
We also have an extensive Operations team, who are field based.

talented Supply Chain Manager to join our team.
Context And Responsibilities:
Over the last two years, the Weight Watchers organisation has made tremendous
progress in setting up a Supply Chain function virtually from scratch. A strong
relationship with Christian Salveson, our third party provider, has been fostered,
ensuring an effective logistics service, and an Oracle Supply Chain system has been
implemented to provide the most up to date technologies to take us forward.
Having made huge progress in getting this department up and running, we’re now
entering ‘phase two’, and need to further develop our supply chain infrastructure to
enable the delivery of aggressive growth targets over the next 3 to 5 years.
This role will head up the function going forward, and is responsible for the strategic
development of supply chain processes and systems across the UK business. You will
deliver cost-effective business process improvements, control inventory budgets and
oversee demand planning. You will review the service levels currently provided by our
third party logistics supplier and move the relationship forward to ensure further
enhanced levels of service. This role will interface with field-based Operations, IS,
Finance, Product and Marketing teams to ensure a seamless stock management and
delivery system in a cost effective way. Managing a team of 3 direct reports, you will be
part of the UK Senior Management Team and therefore part of the broader leadership of
Weight Watchers UK.
Key Accountabilities:
• Develop a long term demand plan, increasing availability while reducing
distribution costs
• Review the current systems and practices, and make strategic
recommendations for improved processes going forward including
production introductions, order and supplier management, inventory
management and distribution servicing, supporting financial management
goals
• Review order processing systems t across regional Business Offices
• Develop and manage Key Performance Indicators and circulate to key
teams
• Manage inventory budgets and strive for increased cost efficiency
• Champion all changes in operating processes in order to optimise
capability
• Review and ensure best practice in inventory management and champion
inventory best practice across Europe
• Review and take steps to improve the service provided to remote
Leaders, and manage stock at leader level e.g. ‘leaders as stores’
• Manage the relationship with our third-party provider, Christian Salvesen
• Create cross-border synergy, including leveraging global buying power to
create a world wide logistics partnership
• Champion open and honest communication, and foster collaborative
relationships with internal teams
• Manage a team of 3 direct reports
• Be a pro-active and positive member of the wider UK Senior Management
Team
Skills and Behaviours:
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in Supply Chain management and
will demand the highest standards in efficiency, service and value for money. They will
possess courage and strong leadership to lead significant organisational step-change in
developing an integrated function for Weight Watchers UK, and will be prepared to
challenge the status quo. They will be able to quickly assess the practices currently in
operation and recommend long-term strategic improvements to further advance the
function. Key to delivering a first class supply chain function will be the individual’s ability
to interface with internal departments and external service providers at all levels in order
to foster collaborative practices with allow our business to thrive. They will take a hands
on approach, lead by example and be driven towards completion. They will be a real
team player, retaining a sense of humour under pressure.
