Why do we blow the Shofar?
                  Exodus 19:16

the mountain, and there was the sounding of
a very loud SHOFAR blast. Everyone in the

               Today’s Joke
• There was a man who wanted to buy a
    house.
• So he called on G-d and G-d answered.
• He was surprised when G-d said… “What
    do you want?”
• The man said I have a question for you.
How long is a million years to you?
               Today’s Joke
• G-d said “About a second.”
• So the man thought then said…
• “How much is a million dollars to you?”
• G-d answered “about a penny.”
• The man thought for a while and said…
• “How about a million dollars?”
               Today’s Joke
• And G-d said, “Wait a second”.

Because Messiah said it was the greatest Commandment

Mark 12:28-29
28 And one of the scribes came, and having heard
them reasoning together, and perceiving that He had
answered them well, asked Him, “Which is the
  greatest commandment of all?”
29 And Yeshua answered him, “The first of all the
commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord
  our God is One Lord:”

                     Today
• There have been
  various candidates
  through the ages that
  the Church has
  declared to be the
  Anti-Christ.

                             Mik.sw f
                      Today
• Turns out the
  Church has had a
  pretty poor
  accuracy rate and
  have discredited
  themselves
  among un-
  Believers.
                    Today
• We don’t want to do
  that!
• So we, as Messianics,
  try to make sure any
  claims we make have
  at least some kind of
  Biblical backing.
                      Today
• When it comes to
  prophecy it’s difficult
  to nail much down
  because prophecy, as a
  whole, is often cryptic.
• I’ll rarely get into an
  argument on this topic,
  simply because…
               Pan-Theology

• there’s not enough
  information to form
  any kind of airtight
  eschatology.
• That being said, it
  doesn’t mean we
  should be
  “Pan-tribulationists”.
               Pan-Theology

• Pan-tribulationism
  means something
  like, “Well, we’ll
  wait and see how
  it all pans out”.
• Pan-tribulationists
  will rarely put
  much effort into
  studying prophecy
  because…
               Pan-Theology

• they figure why
  study it? They’ll just
  wait and see what
  happens.
• That’s not a good
  way to look at
  anything concerning
  Scripture.
               Pan-Theology
• The Bible is one-third
  prophetic.
• That’s a lot!
• If G-d put that much
  prophecy in Scripture,
  we need to study it.
              Pan-Theology
• That doesn’t mean we
  have to get all hung
  up on it and stop
  fellowshipping with
  any who disagree with
  our viewpoint
  concerning it.
                 This = That

• Prophecy has a lot of
  symbolism and I’m
  not big on symbolism,
  give me the plain
  scoop.
• But if we’re dealing
  with prophecy there is
  a lot of allegory and
  double meanings.
                  This = That

• We can’t escape that.
• But we should study
  it… it’s important!
• And nothing in the
  Bible is to be ignored.
• I repeat, nothing in
  the Bible is to be
  ignored.
         “Fear Believer Fear!”
• People often wonder
  about various prophecy
  teachers/speakers/writers
  who are out there today
  like Hal Lindsey, John
  Hagee, Hank Hanegraaff,
  Grant Jeffrey, Tim LaHaye
  and others.
            “Fear Believer Fear!”

• And the first thing you
  want to ask yourselves
  is this… “What spirit is
  this particular
  prophecy teacher
  coming in?”
            “Fear Believer Fear!”

• Does the prophecy
  teacher’s teachings
  strike fear in the heart
  of the Believer?
• If so, then we know his
  message is not from
  G-d because the spirit
  of fear doesn’t come
  from Yehova, it comes
  from who?
           “Fear Believer Fear!”

• So right there you can
  wipe off most prophecy
  teachers from your list
  because they love to
  play on your fears.
• G-d didn’t give us
  prophecy to scare His
  Children.
           “Fear Believer Fear!”

• He gave us prophecy so
  that we would know
  what was going to
  happen in the future so
  that we would have
  peace.
                 2 Topics

• So today we’re
   going to look at:
1. The religious
   background of the
   AC
2. As well as his mark
   “666”.
                   2 Topics

• I hope to dispel a
  lot of myth that’s
  going on out there
  in Christianity
  concerning the
  Mark of the Beast
  because there’s too
  much nonsense
  being spread about
  it.
                Spiritual Background

• But first let’s look at his
  spiritual background.
• If you believe in the
  Once Saved Always
  Saved doctrine, you
  wont agree with this
  section of the teaching.
               Spiritual Background

• The AC will originally be a
  Believer.
• Not only a Believer, but a
  really good Believer who
  will have been very close
  to G-d at one point.
             Spiritual Background

• He will then backslide
  and lose his Salvation
  and become one of the
  worst men to ever walk
  this planet.
              Spiritual Background

• We don’t need to fear
  this because we are
  G-d’s children for one…
  and two, he wont rule
  this side of the planet
  anyway.
               Spiritual Background

• There’s a huge error in
  Church thinking
  concerning him ruling
  “all the earth” but we’ll
  get to that soon.
              Spiritual Background

• There’s various clues in
  Scripture that point out
  he’s a backslider and
  we’ll go over those
  shortly.
             Spiritual Background

• But we can also
  understand that he’s a
  backslider by employing
  Biblical principles and
  reason.
• Let me show you what I
  mean.
              Spiritual Background

• First we have to have
  a very clear
  understanding of the
  Biblical principle that
  sin is proportionate to
  how much we know.
             Spiritual Background

• If we know a lot
  about holiness, we
  will know a lot about
  wickedness.
• These go hand in
  hand.
                Spiritual Background

• We see this principle come
  into play concerning
  Moses.
• Do you remember the story
  when Moses struck the
  rock for water for the
  Israelites instead of
speaking to it, like G-d told
  him to?
                          Spiritual Background
• Numbers 20
• 7And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,
• 8`Take the rod, and assemble the company, thou and Aaron thy brother; and ye have spoken
unto the rock before their eyes, and it hath given its water, and thou hast brought out to them
water from the rock, and hast watered the company, and their beasts.'
• 9And Moses taketh the rod from before Jehovah, as He hath commanded him,
• 10and Moses and Aaron assemble the assembly unto the front of the rock, and he saith to
them, `Hear, I pray you, O rebels, from this rock do we bring out to you water?'
• 11and Moses lifteth up his hand, and smiteth the rock with his rod twice; and much water
cometh out, and the company drink, also their beasts.
• 12And Jehovah saith unto Moses, and unto Aaron, `Because ye have not believed in Me to
sanctify Me before the eyes of the sons of Israel, therefore ye do not bring in this assembly unto
the land which I have given to them.'
           Spiritual Background

• Because Moses
  struck the rock he
  was never able to
  enter the Holy Land.
• G-d wouldn’t allow
  him to.
• It was a punishment
  against Moses.
           Spiritual Background

• Now, if someone like
  you or me were to
  have stricken the
  rock, G-d wouldn’t
  have been so harsh
  on us.
           Spiritual Background

• We make much
  bigger mistakes then
  that quite often.
• G-d wouldn’t be as
  hard on us because
  we don’t know Him
  so well.
          Spiritual Background

• Moses on the
  other hand knew
  G-d very well. He
  was closer to
  Him then we are
  today.
                Spiritual Background

• Because Moses knew
  holiness so well, even a
  little thing like striking the
  rock was a big deal.
• I could’ve pounded on the
  rock, took a jackhammer
  to it, used some dynamite
to blow it up and G-d
  would’ve probably just
  laughed at my ignorance.
             Spiritual Background

• G-d wasn’t laughing
  when Moses disobeyed.
  Moses knew G-d too
  well to behave like that
  and it cost him.
            Spiritual Background

• So again, sin is
  proportionate to what
  one knows.
• It’s important that we
  understand that.
• If you do understand
  this, you’re life will
  become much more
  simple.
            Spiritual Background

• If you’re like me,
  you’ve met some
  people who run
  around like chickens
  with their heads cut
  off telling everyone,
  “Oh I think I sinned
today” or “Oh I think I
  sinned yesterday”
             Spiritual Background

• If you don’t, in all
  honesty, know if you
  committed a sin or not,
  then you didn’t sin!
• James 4:17
• 17 Therefore to him
  that knoweth to do
  good, and doeth it not,
  to him it is sin.
             Spiritual Background

• It is directly related to
  what you know.
• Moses knew it was a sin
  for him to strike that
  rock and thus he
  sinned against G-d.
           Spiritual Background

• There’s another
  example…
• Which being was
  the closest to G-d
  ever?
           Spiritual Background

• Lucifer!
• He was the arch-
  Cherub.
• No one was ever closer
  to G-d then he was.
           Spiritual Background

• Thus he is the most
evil ever.
• The higher one is up,
the further he can fall.
           Spiritual Background

• We can therefore
  assume just on
  principle that the
  AC will be very
  close to G-d at
  some point in his
  life.
           Spiritual Background

• Now let’s look at
  some Scriptures
  that plainly back
  this up.
               Spiritual Background

• 2 Thes. 2
• 1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our
Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto
  him,
• 2That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled,
neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us,
as that the day of Christ is at hand.
• 3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day
shall not come, except there come a falling away first,
and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition.
            Spiritual Background

• There are various 1. Man of Sin
names of the Anti 2. Lawless One
Christ -> 3. The First Beast
                          4. Prince to Come
                          5. Son of Perdition
                          6. The Beast
                          7. The Little Horn
                          8. King of the North
             Spiritual Background

• We have to look at
  one of these names
  here.
• The son of perdition.
• In Greek this word
  perdition is “Apolia”.
• It means “loss”.
            Spiritual Background

• Here’s an example…
• Hebrews 10:39 NRSV
• 39. But we are not among those who shrink
back and so are lost, but among those who
have faith and so are saved.
            Spiritual Background

• Here’s another example of this word being
  used…
• 39 But we are not those who turn back and are
lost. We are people who have faith and are
  saved. NCV
            Spiritual Background

• The son of
  perdition means
  the “son of loss”.
• Now,
• I have never lost
  a million dollars.
• Do you know
  why?
               Spiritual Background

• Because I’ve never had
  a million dollars.
• You can’t lose
  something you’ve never
  had.
• This son of perdition has
  something but loses it.
• What did he lose?
            Spiritual Background

• He lost his Salvation!
• Apolia also means
  Apostate.
• That’s where our
  word Apostate comes
  from.
           Spiritual Background

• There’s only one
  other person in all
  the Brit Hadasha
  that’s called a “son
  of perdition.”
• Guess who?
             Spiritual Background

• Yudah Ish Keriot
    (Judas Iscariot).
• Ish Keriot means
    “man from Keriot”
• Keriot is just south
    of Hebron.
• Yeshua Himself
    talks about Judas
    in John 17:12
              Spiritual Background

• John 17:12
• 12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them
in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept
and none of them is lost (apolia) , but the son of
perdition (Apostasy); that the scripture might be
    fulfilled .
              Spiritual Background

• The Father gave him all
    of the Twelve but He
    lost one.
            Spiritual Background

• Notice that it
    doesn’t say, “I kept
    the 11 which you
    gave me and the
    12th one which I
    never had in the
    first place is still
    lost.”
• No!
             Spiritual Background

• Yeshua is saying very
    clearly He had them
    but lost one of them.
• You can’t be an
    apostate if you were
    not once in the faith.
             Spiritual Background

• If one could
    never lose the
    faith, there’d be
    no such word as
    “APOSTATE” and
    Yeshua Himself
    is using that word
    right here.
              Spiritual Background

• If the word apostate
  didn’t exist, Yeshua
  wouldn’t have used it.
• So obviously the word
  apostate does exist in
  our faith and Judas was
  one…
• And so will the AC be
  one.
          Spiritual Background

• Daniel 11:37 makes perfect sense now.
• 37 Neither shall he regard the God of
his fathers, nor the desire of women,
nor regard any god: for he shall
  magnify himself above all.
              Anti-Christy?

• “nor the desire of
  women” is a
  Hebrew idiom
  which means he’s a
  homosexual.
                 Anti-Christy?

• The word
  homosexual is not
  in the Bible.
• It’s a new word.
• Noah Webster
  published his first
  dictionary in 1828,
  “homosexual” is
  not in it.
                  Anti-Christy?

• Sodomy was in that
  dictionary but
  homosexual was a word
  made up later to replace
  it.
• Furthermore, the word
  “desire” in Hebrew
  there is chamad,
                     Anti-Christy?

• It denotes lust associated
  with sexuality.
• Some have tried to say
  that this idiom is about
  how women envy The AC.
• Not so. The Scripture here
is trying to tell us that he’s
  sexually perverted.
                 Anti-Christy?

• Why would G-d want
  to point that out to
  us?
• Because of the gravity
  of the sin of
  homosexuality.
                Anti-Christy?

• It’s the only sin that G-d has ever “come
  down” to punish!
• Gen 18:21
• 21"I will go down now, and see if they have
done entirely according to its outcry, which
has come to Me; and if not, I will know."
                Anti-Christy?

• Though God dealt with
  many other sins in
  various ways, there is
  no other for which he
  came down from
  heaven to verify and
  destroy.
                Anti-Christy?

• So we know he’s going
  to be a backslider and
  we know about his
  perversion.
• What about his
  number?
             Just Another Number

• 666, it scares some
  people just to hear it.
• I know Christians who
  wont buy a product if
666 is on it such as on
  the license plate of a
car or the address of a
  house.
            Just Another Number

• Many fear that we’ll one
  day have computer chips
  placed under our skin and
  then we’ll be damned
  forever.
• “The Scripture says if you
  take the number of the
  beast, you’ll find no
  forgiveness.”
           Just Another Number

• I remember when
  UPC symbols first
  came out on products
  in the grocery store.
• I watched Christians
  refuse to go to
  particular stores that
  were using them for
  fear of taking “The
  Mark”.
            Just Another Number

• It’s still a superstition
  among many Christians
  and it causes them to
  fear.
• I’m often asked what
  we can do to avoid
  accidentally taking The
  Mark.
           Just Another Number

• I always ask them one
  question back.
• “If I was abducted by a
  group of men and they
  hog tied me and
  branded me with 666 all
over my body, but in my
  heart I loved Jesus and
  I died, where would I
  go?”
            Just Another Number

• Every single one of
them tells me I’d go to
  heaven.
• Then they begin to see
  the disconnect and I
  just watch as their
  entire Christian
  eschatology falls apart.
           Just Another Number

• The Mark isn’t what
  they thought it was and
  it’s nothing for the
  Believer to fear.
• The first thing we have
  to understand about
The Mark is that it has
  to be taken willingly.
            Can Sin Be Forced?
• Rev 13:16
• 16And he causeth (poiei {poy-eye} in Greek)
all, both small and great, rich and poor, free
and bond, to receive a mark in their right
  hand, or in their foreheads:
            Can Sin Be Forced?
• It says, “receive”! One has to receive it.
• The NIV incorrectly translates this passage
    as…
• 16 He also forced everyone, small and great,
rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a
mark on his right hand or on his forehead.
             Can Sin Be Forced?
• “Forced” is an
    incorrect
    translation. It
    should be
    “persuaded”,
    “exercised” or
    “caused” as the KJV
    has it translated. It
    isn’t “forced” at all.
             Can Sin Be Forced?
• Look at a few verses before this in the same NIV
    translation…
• Rev 13:12
• 12He exercised all the authority of the first beast
on his behalf, and made the earth and its
inhabitants worship the first beast, whose fatal
    wound had been healed.
• The word exercised there is “poiei”. The NIV
should’ve translated it the same way in verse 16.
           Can Sin Be Forced?

• This whole idea of
    the AC forcing
    people to take The
    Mark is ludicrous.
• Sin can never be
    forced on anyone.
• Otherwise it is no
    longer a sin.
            Can Sin Be Forced?

• Sin MUST be
    committed
    willingly and with
    full knowledge.
• Taking the Mark is
    a sin.
• And not only A sin
    but THE sin.
                 Only One
• Now here’s where a
  lot of Believers don’t
  connect the dots once
  again.
• Most of us know
  there’s only one
  unpardonable sin.
                   Only One
• Blasphemy against the
  Holy Spirit. (Mark
  3:28, Matt 12:32)
• But what most forget
  is that Rev 14:9-11
tells us that if you take
  the Mark of the Beast
  you wont be forgiven.
                   Only One
• Are there 2
  unpardonable sins?
• No, so what does this
  tell us?
• It tells us that they are
  one and the same
  thing.
                      Only One
• In order to receive the
  Mark you must
  Blaspheme the Holy
  Spirit.
• It is incorporated into it.
                      Only One
• What is blasphemy
  against the Holy Spirit.
• Does it mean telling a lie
  about Him?
• Is it using the Holy Spirit’s
  name in vain?
• Is it making fun of the
  Holy Spirit?
• What is it?
                  Only One
• Most people think
it is a lie about the
  Holy Spirit
• It is not a lie.
• It’s a reversal of
  truth.
                      Only One
• A reversal of truth is
  more then just a lie.
• A lie is like saying white is
  pink.
• A reversal of truth is
  saying white is black or
  black is white.
                     Only One
• So how does that apply
  here.
• A lie about the Holy Spirit
  is like saying the Holy
  Spirit isn’t G-d.
• That’d be a lie.
                      Only One
• But if you said, the Holy
  Spirit is the Devil, that’s
  not just a lie, it’s a
  reversal of truth.
                     Only One
• Likewise if you said the
  Devil is the Holy Spirit,
  that would also be a
  reversal of truth.
                    Only One
• So what this means is if
you saw an action of the
  Holy Spirit, a healing or
  something miraculous
  and you KNEW beyond a
  shadow of a doubt that
that was an action of the
  Holy Spirit and you said,
  “That’s the Devil!”…
                    Only One
• Then you’ve just
  committed blasphemy
  against the Holy Spirit
  and you shall not be
  forgiven.
                     Only One
• Why do you have to
  know beyond a shadow
  of a doubt?
• Because sin is all related
  to what we know.
• It goes hand in hand
          “It’d Be My Honor”
• Now Satan is not
  stupid.
• He has a higher I.Q.
  then any human and
  he’s been around long
  enough to know how
  things work.
           “It’d Be My Honor”
• He knows he can’t
  get you to sin unless
  you do so willingly.
• The AC will not
  force anyone to
  take the Mark.
            “It’d Be My Honor”
• In fact he will make it as
if it were an honor to
  receive it.
• Like saying…“If you will
take my mark, I will give
  you such and such”
• You will have to desire
  The Mark in order to
  receive it.
           “It’d Be My Honor”
• If you remember in
  Communist Russia.
• Not everyone was a card
  carrying communist.
• Only about 10% of the
  whole population in the
  USSR were card carrying
  communists.
            “It’d Be My Honor”
• It was actually an honor
  to be a card carrying
  communist.
• You were given benefits
  that other citizens didn’t
  have.
• You had more rights
• You lived better etc etc.
            “It’d Be My Honor”
• It will be similar in
  the rule of the AC.
• If you want to move
  up in big business or
  move up in politics…
• You will first have to
  take the Mark.
• Not just any Joe Blow
is going to be able to
  get it.
                   All ≠ All

• But what about
• Rev 13:16
• 16And he causeth (poiei {poy-eye} in Greek)
all, both small and great, rich and poor, free
and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand,
  or in their foreheads?
                  All ≠ All
•• s have to be careful
   We
   when we hear the
   Greek say “All” or
   “Most” or “Every” or
   “Some”.
 • You can NOT trust
   these words in Greek!
                   All ≠ All
• Let’s look at one problem if we insist on
believing that when the Greek says all, it means
  all…
• Rev 13:7 says speaking of the AC…
• 7And it was given unto him to make war with
the saints, and to overcome them: and power
was given him over all kindreds, and tongues,
  and nations.
                   All ≠ All
• Well, there’s a
  problem here
  because the Bible
  also says that the AC
  doesn’t control
  Jordan in Dan 11:41.
                  All ≠ All
• Dan 11:41
• 1 He (AC) shall enter also into the beauteous
  land, and many countries shall be overthrown;
but these shall be delivered out of his hand,
Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children
  of Ammon.
• Edom Moab and Amman are today’s Jordan
                     All ≠ All
• So the AC doesn’t rule ALL the world, he can’t even
  control little Jordan.
• Also Scripture tells us in Luke 2:1… And it came to
pass in those days, that there went out a
decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the
  world should be taxed.
• All doesn’t always mean all.
     “I can’t buy a loaf of bread!”
• There’s no need to be
  scared of the Mark of
  the Beast either.
• “But we wont even be
able to buy a loaf of
  bread at the grocery
  store if we don’t have
  the Mark!!!”
• Let’s look at that
  passage in closing.
    “I can’t buy a loaf of bread!”
• Rev 13:17
• 17And that no man might buy or sell, save he
that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or
  the number of his name.
    “I can’t buy a loaf of bread!”
• In Greek, the term
  “buy or sell” is the
  same as it is in
  English.
• Where do we
  normally hear that
  term?
   “I can’t buy a loaf of bread!”
• It’s well
  used in
  Wall Street.
• Any kind of
  stocks and
  other high
  finance.
    “I can’t buy a loaf of bread!”
• It’s the exact
  same thing in
  Greek, it means
  high finance.
• It doesn’t mean
  you can’t buy
  groceries at your
  local grocery
  store.
     “I can’t buy a loaf of bread!”
• When’s the last
  time you went to
  Safeway and sold
  something there?
• I’ve never sold
  anything at a
  grocery store ever.
• I’ve bought stuff
  there plenty of
  times. But never
  sold anything.
                Conclusion
• If you want to move
  up in the AC
  government or be in
  high finance in his
  empire, you will have
  to take The Mark.
• So rest better now!
• Don’t fear because
  G-d is with you.
                  Conclusion
• Do not fear the AC or
his mark, for you are a
  child of the most high
  G-d.
• If you’re not a Believer,
  then you have some
  worrying to do.
• Shabbat Shalom.
