acknowledge that by signing this application that I agree to abide by the Academy
enrolment process and any decision the selection panel make. I also agree I have
supplied all the required documents as instructed in this document to commence the
enrolment process and I understand that by not being able to supply the required
information that this may delay my application being processed. I acknowledge that in
preparing for this career that I need to conduct research relating to future employment
options that may be available to me once I have been trained.
If I am accepted for a course, I agree to ensure all the remaining documents are
completed (i.e. class 1 medical on file, all tuition funds settled, and if applicable,
accommodation arranged, the student visa granted,) and copies of the medical, student
visa, etc given to the Academy administration at least 2 weeks prior to the course
commencing. (For international applicants, copies will be accepted prior to arrival, but
originals must be sighted on arrival). I also understand that if I am not able to supply
copies of documents/ passports or complete my medical by this time, I will not be allowed
to start the course for which I have been accepted.

Information for all Applicants - All applicants, whether they are international or domestic applicants,
enrolling onto any course offered by IAANZ are required to furnish the following documents or information:
♦ The Completed application form
♦ Copy of your birth certificate and for permanent residents, a copy of the passport with the
residency stamp
♦ Must be 18 years of age
♦ Copy of the results of your secondary school and or any recent tertiary study
♦ Copy of your current class1 medical (copy to stay on file here at (IAANZ) Approved CAA
medical practitioners are available on our website
♦ Provide a copy of your drivers licence
Other Information Specific to Domestic Applicants - If the above information satisfies the selection panel,
all domestic applicants will be invited to:
♦ Attend the selection interview - the interview consists of: (i) a 45 minute written assessment; (ii)
a 20 question computer generated assessment; (iii) a flight simulator activity; (iv) an interview
with the Chief Flying Instructor or other designated senior flight instructor
Those domestic applicants who fulfill or exceed the above criteria will be sent a formal letter of offer and
enrolment documents. All successful applicants will be required to ensure:
♦ Their completed enrolment documents with supporting information are given to the Academy
administration 2 weeks prior to the course commencement
♦ Their student loan funds are paid to IAANZ or NMIT 2 weeks prior to the course commencing;
♦ Their Class 1 medical is current and there is a copy on file with IAANZ administration at least 1
week prior to course commencing;
♦ Attend the orientation day.
Important note - Those successful applicants who have not been able to provide the above documentation 2
weeks prior to the course commencing, will not be able to commence the course. This is not open to
negotiation, so please don’t ask. These student affected will be advised by phone and in writing.
Those domestic students who do not meet the entry criteria will be advised in writing and will have their
deposit refunded.
Other Information Specific to International Applicants - if the above information satisfies the selection
panel, the international applicant will be:
♦ Sent a letter of offer of place of study, both by email and by post
♦ Sent an invoice for the full tuition fees and the compulsory medical and travel insurance, via
email
Once the fees are paid, the international applicant will be:
♦ Sent a receipt proving payment of the fees and medical/ travel insurance
♦ sent the enrolment documents
♦ requested to arrange accommodation for the duration of the course (pre-payment of the
accommodation or a copy of the tenancy agreement will be required to support your application
for the student visa)
♦ complete the required NZ Immigration health checks

When the above has been completed the accepted international student can then apply for their student
study visa.
Once the student visa has been issued, the successful international student will need to:
♦ Advise the Academy of their arrival date and time
♦ Ensure their accommodation is organised.
♦ Ensure their arrival in prior to the international orientation day
♦ Attend the Orientation Day - Those who are accepted will be required to attend the orientation
day which will be held on the Friday prior to the PPL theory courses commencing. Students will
be advised in writing of this day. Attendance at this day is absolutely compulsory as it is a full
day timetable of events that will assist all international student to understand the course, the
course timetable, the organisation and we offer two seminars to assist international students
with assimilation into the Kiwi culture: one is a driving safely on New Zealand seminar where
the current road rules are explained; and as we have so many students who cycle to the
Academy on daily basis, the second seminar is on bicycle safety and the road code
♦ Class1 Medical clearance required? If the student needs to get the compulsory NZ CAA Class
one medical, they will need to arrive at least 1 week prior to the course start date to ensure this
check is completed prior to course starting. Advising the Academy administration of your arrival
date, will ensure a doctors appointment is made for you
