Access to Budapest
The Liszt Ferenc International Airport of Budapest (BUD) is a busy regional
hub. It has direct connections with intercontinental hubs such as London,
Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Vienna, Helsinki, Madrid, Milano or
Rome. Some direct flights are also available from New York, Moscow,
St.Petersburg, Toronto and Beijing. The Hungarian Airlines has an
extensive network with flight routes mostly in Europe. It is member of the
global network of oneworld.
How to reach the Hotel Gellért ?
Budapest Airport (BUD) is located approximately 17 km from the downtown.
The airport is served among others with a contracted partner taxi company
called Főtaxi which has fixed prices to the Hotel Gellért (zone 3) and back
for 5300 HUF and 4600 HUF respectively. Upon arrival just outside the
building there is a booth of Főtaxi where you can make the order and you
can take the taxicab immediately. This is a 30-45 mins drive depending on
the traffic. By leaving the hotel for the airport, you can chose the same
service asking simply the reception one day before departure. The airport
Minibus Service is cheaper, but takes usually 50% more time serving even
8-10 people by a single trip.
