Mrs. Ann Graham, Kindergarten

Mrs. Graham is from Tiptonville, home of three blinking lights and a Dairy Queen. She knew when
she was in Kindergarten that she wanted to be a Kindergarten teacher. She also wanted to have a
house with a swing on the front porch and oddly enough when she played house my husband’s
name was always Chris. Tadah . . .dreams really do come true.

She met Chris at a New Year’s Eve party when she left her car lights on and the battery went dead.
He gave me a charge (literally).

After graduating from the University of Alabama with a B.S. in Child Development, Mrs. Graham
taught in the public school system for three years prior to having their first child. She took a nine-
teen year break from teaching although she was a homeroom mother for fourteen of those years.
During that time Mrs. Graham started the Art Smart program and Summer Art Camp. She also sub-
stituted at SMS before returning six years ago. She did and still does some free lance art work,
painting murals and doing calligraphy.

She and Chris have helped further the alumni group with their four daughters: Christina graduated
in 2000, Katie in 2003, Ann Marie in 2005 and Ali in 2010.

When asked about her time at St. Mary’s, her comment was “I consider SMS one of the greatest
blessings of my life. I am so grateful for all that it has given me and my family. God is good.”
