GENERAL MEDICAL SERVICES Companies are committed to the welfare of the staff deployed to remote locations. This commitment has created an overwhelming need for local health information, specialised medical equipment and on-site medical facilities. AEA is the recognised leader in the provision of remote-site medical services throughout Asia. AEA’s GMS services range from site surveys, the provision of medicines, First Aid training and general medical consultancy to the set-up and management of on-site medical facilities. On-site facilities include everything from a paramedic First Aid station to a fully equipped, staffed and managed field hospital. GMS field services are often integrated with AEA member assistance services to provide a seamless medical support programme capable of responding promptly to all medical conditions; a capability vital to remote site operations. Specialised surveys include: i Remote Location Surveys ii Rig Surveys iii Malaria Surveys iv Water Testing Surveys The Site Survey examines the geographical, environmental, transport, telecommunications and medical aspects of the site and the general region. The Site Survey also serves as the basis for medical recommendations such as emergency medical procedures and on-site preventive actions which can reduce the likelihood of the most common preventable accidents and illnesses. MEDICAL STAFFING Immediate First Aid for ill or injured project personnel is of key importance, particularly on remote-site projects. AEA is able to supply doctors, paramedics and nurses for projects throughout Asia. AEA medical personnel are interviewed and selected by senior AEA Doctors.
