The software repairs corrupted PST files and restores all the elements such as e-mails, attachments, contacts, calendars and journals from it. An intensive scan of the PST file extracts all the data files, repairs it and recovers to a new usable PST file. The user needs to import the new PST file into MS Outlook to view the recovered items and for further use. In addition, Stellar Phoenix Outlook Pst Repair software ensures the recovery of accidentally deleted emails that have been emptied from the Deleted Items folder and the recovery of lost or forgotten passwords of the mail accounts in MS Outlook. The installation process should start automatically on inserting the disc in its drive. If it does not, run setup from the software disc. If the software has been downloaded from the Internet, navigate to the location where the files have been downloaded and run setup from there. Follow the instructions as directed by the setup program. The program installs the software, creates a shortcut icon on the desktop or on the taskbar (optional), creates an entry in the Programs group menu, and creates an entry in the Add/Remove Programs group for software removal. Otherwise, activate the product using the manual activation. If the key used for the registration of the software is not valid, then an error message is displayed to enter a valid key for the application. 12 Installation Guide Stellar Phoenix Activation using Email While activating the product over Internet, if the software could not communicate with the server, an error message shown below will popup. Click OK to register the product through email. • The registration wizard for sending the authorization request will appear (shown below), as soon as OK is clicked. • Leave the option unchecked and click Next to continue. • In the next window, type the email address in the text box to which the unlocking code is to be send. Once the email address is entered, click Next. 13 Installation Guide • The email address verification window will appear. Click Yes, if email address is correct. The software automatically launches the default email client, and sends an email containing the unique site code with registration request to the registration server. If the registration wizard could not launch the default email client, following messages will appear. 14 Installation Guide • Click OK, to continue the process manually. • The window shown below appears. • Open an email client (like Outlook Express, MS outlook, Eudora etc) and create a new message. • Place the cursor in the box labeled TO and press CTRL+V to paste address. If it does not work, right click on the TO box and select paste from the popup menu. The TO box will contain the address as shown below. • Click Next, following window will appear 15 Installation Guide • Now place the cursor in the box labeled Subject in the same message window and paste (method same as above) the text. The Subject box will contain the text as shown below. • Click Next, do the same process mentioned to paste the encrypted text content in the body of the message. 16 Installation Guide 17 Installation Guide • Click Next to finish the procedure and send the email. Make sure the content of the email sent for automatic authorization have the details as mentioned above. If they are incorrect, the server will reject the mail registration request. • If the process is successful, following window will appear. After processing the email, registration server would send an email containing unlocking code/site-key. Note: In case wizard is not able to launch the default email client, it automatically shifts to the manual process for sending the activation authorization request. 18 Installation Guide Manual Registration To activate manually: Manual registration is for users who do not have an Internet connection, or are facing problem while authorizing the software over the Internet. Click Next, to continue or click Retry to check the connection once again. The following window is shown if Next is clicked. Enter the serial number (received through e-mail after purchasing the product), and click Next. Manual registration is complete - the software will then create a file named PHX_REG.txt on the desktop. This file has to be sent to register@stellarinfo.com. After verifying the details, an e-mail containing the unlocking-code/site-key is sent. 19 Installation Guide The manual registration process will take a maximum of 1 business day for completion. • To enter the unlocking code/site-key, on the Activation menu, click Manual Registration and click OK. • Enter the unlocking code/site key and click Validate, to activate the software. • If the unlocking code/site key is correct, a message is displayed to confirm the completion of the application. 20 Installation Guide The manual registration process will take a maximum of 1 business day for completion. How to Activate BOX version? The product will be physically shipped to the user. The physical box will contain: • Product Installation CD • Hardware Lock • Product Manual Follow the procedure mentioned below to use the physical box. a) Insert CD in the CD-ROM drive - Setup of the software should start automatically. b) Once the installation of software is complete, plug in the hardware lock provided in the BOX. c) If a USB lock is received, an LED glows on the lock - this confirms that the software is ready to use now. d) The application is ready to be launched. 21 Installation Guide Using the Software Stellar Phoenix Outlook Pst Repair is robust and powerful software that has a simple and well-organized user interface. It contains all that the user needs to perform a complete PST recovery and requires no prior technical skills. The main user interface will appear after the successful installation of the software. Subsequent to installation, to start the application do one of the following: Click Start > Programs > Stellar Phoenix Outlook Pst Repair > Stellar Phoenix Outlook Pst Repair Double click the shortcut icon on the desktop. Click quick launch icon on the taskbar. The key functions of Stellar Phoenix Outlook Pst Repair are: Repair PST File Split PST File Password Recovery Repair PST File To select PST file to repair: • Click Select PST File button. • Navigate to the file, select it and click Open. 22 Installation Guide To find PST file: • Click Find PST File button • Specify the Search Options and click Start. 23 Installation Guide By default, the split files are saved to the same location that of the original file. To save the repaired file in user-specified location: • Click Change Destination Path button. • Navigate to the location and click Split PST File. 24 Installation Guide To start recovery: • Click Start Recovery button. • The progress bar will show the status of repairing process. • After repairing, all the elements/items extracted from the PST file appear on the main user interface in 3-view format. 25 Installation Guide 26 Installation Guide Split PST File To select large PST file to split: • Click Select PST File button. • Navigate to the file, select it and click Open. 27 Installation Guide To find PST file: • Click Find PST File button • Specify the Search Options and click Start. 28 Installation Guide By default, the split files are saved to the same location that of the original file. To save the repaired file in user-specified location: • Click Change Destination Path button. • Navigate to the location and click Split PST File. 29 Installation Guide The user can manage the PST files that are to be repaired by selecting either By date or By mail id of the user. The user can specify the By Date option in two different ways: • By specifying the number of months in in the last month(s) field. • Or by specifying the exact duration from between and and fields. In By Date option, if the user enters the number of months in in the last months option, then all the mails will be recovered, which are received within the number of months specified in the field, from the current system date. In By Date option, if the user chooses to enter the exact date in the between and and fields, then all the mails will be recovered, which are received within the specified time duration. 30 Installation Guide To split the file using By mail id, just check the Mail Ids of the users, whose mails have to be recovered. If the user selects the mail id to split the file, then all the mails of the selected users will be repaired. 31 Installation Guide While recovering mails using By mail id, both the name and the mail id of the person have to be checked to recover all the mails of the person. For Example, if all the mails of person abc have to recovered, then both the name and the mail id of abc have to be checked. After selecting the appropriate option to split the file, click OK to start the split process. 32 Installation Guide In demo version, the user can only view the mail ids. The product has to be registered to split the PST file. 33 Installation Guide Password Recovery To select PST file to recover password: • Click Select PST File button. • Navigate to the file, select it and click Open. To find PST file: • Click Find PST File button • Specify the Search Options and click Start. 34 Installation Guide 35 Installation Guide Click Find Password(s) to recover the passwords. 36 Installation Guide In demo version, the user can only check whether the password of the PST file is recoverable or not. The product has to be registered to recover the passwords. Using the recovered PST file The user can choose any one of the methods mentioned below to use the recovered PST file. Open recovered PST file in MS Outlook, to do so follow the steps: • Open MS Outlook application. • On the File menu, click Open -> Outlook Data File… or select Open Outlook Data File option from the context menu (right-click menu) of Folder List pane. (View -> Folder List). • Navigate to the PST file, select it and click OK. • The selected file add to the Folder List pane as a new profile (Stellar Phoenix Outlook Pst Repair). Import recovered PST file into MS Outlook, to do so follow the steps: • On the File menu, click Import And Export... • Click Import from another program or file, and click Next. • In the next window, select Personal Folder File (.pst) option to specify the file type. • In the File to import text box, specify the path of the recovered PST file. If the path is known, type it in the box, else click Browse to manually search for the PST file. • In Select the folder to import from:, select the folder containing the data that has to be imported. If the folder contains sub folders, and it is to include these sub folders in the import process, select Include Sub folders. If the destination for importing is the currently selected folder, click Import items into the current folder.
