Program Description
• A degree-completion program utilizing previous college coursework. The curriculum assists
students with qualifying prior college experience.
• Students must have at least 12 credit hours to enter the program.
• Sixteen technical specialties are offered: Accounting, Business Information Systems, Criminal
Justice, Finance, General (Biomedical Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering
Technology, Computer Information Systems, Electronics Engineering Technology, Network &
Communications Management, Network Security, and Web Development), Health Information
Management, Health Services Management, Hospitality Management, Human Resource
Management, Operations Management, Project Management, Sales & Marketing, Security
Management, Small Business Management & Entrepreneurship, and Technical Communication,
and allowing you to move toward a leadership role in a wide variety of industries.
Students can start the program with their technical specialty undeclared, but must declared before
completing more than 30 credit hours. See a Success Coach to declare a specialty.

Program Requirements
A minimum of 122 credit hours with at least 42 credit hours of upper division coursework (300-400
level courses) must be successfully completed to graduate. This minimum may be exceeded due to
pre-requisite coursework requirement and technical specialty selections. A minimum of 30 credit
hours for this program must be taken at DeVry.

Pick one of these Technical Specialties to complete. All specialties are taught online; some specialties and
specialty courses are taught at Dallas Metro campuses.
Some course prerequisites are waived in the BSTM program. For example, NETW-410 requires an
additional prereq of NETW-208 that is not listed in the Pre-Req column under the Network Security
choice of the general technical specialty. This means NETW-208 is not required within that choice. If you
are blocked from registering for a course due to not having the prereq, visit Student Central and see a
Success Coach about enrolling.

Management, Enterprise Computing, Health Information Systems, Information Systems Security,
Systems Analysis & Integration, and Web Game Programming choices. The Web Development &
Administration track is not available; see the Web Development technical specialty for an alternative.
Also, the Business/Management, Computer Forensics, and Flex-Option tracks are not available. Or,
students can meet with the Dean, College of Engineering & Information Sciences for another option based
on their career desires.
