5.Background Information

As dramatic changes are occurring around the globe, the issues of environment and development have been emerging as core

issues of the world. Green economy is supposed to be a new engine guiding the world economic recovery and coping with

environment and development issues. Low-carbon economy, green industries, energy-saving and new energy industries will be

ones of the directions for future economic growth.

China is currently speeding up its steps to upgrade its economic growth mode and building up a resource-saving and

environment-friendly society. Chinese government attaches great importance to the development of green economy and

strongly wishes to join hands with international partners to address the challenges of the world by learning from international

sophisticated experiences and importing first-class products and technologies.

6.CIGIE Profile

As a state-level high-rank expo, CIGIE 2010 will be hosted by 12 ministries and commissions of China, including the Ministry

of Commerce. It is the most important one of its kind in China with highest level, largest scale and best business opportunities.

Following the principle of attracting international participation, sophisticated products and highlighting public welfare orientation,

the expo will display the best businesses, technologies and products in green industries and green economic sectors and

showcase the evolution and achievements of green industries in China. Meanwhile, the expo is also designed to help guide

Chinese companies to focus on energy saving, environment-friendly and low-carbon technologies and green economy. It will

also help explore new cooperation fields for Chinese and foreign companies, find out new opportunities and set up platforms for

international cooperation in green economic sectors.

7.Highlights of CIGIE 2010

   Networking opportunities with VIPs from 12 ministries, commissions, local provinces and municipalities and more than

   100 top Chinese companies and over 100 international companies in clean energy, environment protection technologies,

   energy saving and emission reducing technologies and low-carbon technologies.

   Highest-rank state exhibition platform with financial support. The exhibition space (standard booth and raw space) will

   be offered for the exhibitors free of charge.

   Top-level promotional channel support for the exhibitors offered by CCTV, Xinhua News Agency, mainstream TV Stations,

   radio broadcasts and online media to maximize exposure to Chinese potential partners.

   Customized B2B meetings and professional visitors and buyers based on the demands of the exhibitors. The decision

   makers of governments at all levels for future energy plans, the leaders of industrial zones of provinces and the business

   executives from related Chinese companies will also be invited to attend the meetings.

8.Topic Events

   1) Opening Ceremony: As a state-level expo in green industries, CIGIE 2010 will invite Chinese state leaders,

   leaders of ministries and commissions of the State Council of China, foreign politicians, famous experts and

   renowned business executives to attend the opening ceremony on Nov. 24, 2010 and visit the expo.

   2) China International Green Industry and Green Economy Forum 2010: The theme of the forum will be Green

   Economy Leads the Future Development of the World. Politicians from key countries, celebrated experts, scholars

   and business executives will be invited to attend the forum.

   3) Corresponding Business Activities: Topic forums, press release policies, business promotions, B2B meetings,

   legal consulting and press conferences will also be held during the expo.

9.Qualifications of Exhibitors

   The exhibitors shall be those well-known Chinese and international companies with sophisticated technologies,

   products and applications in green industries and green economy. The qualifications of the registered companies or

   institutes will be assessed by the working expert group.

10.Scope of Exhibits

   Clean Energy Sector: Clean Energy refers to solar energy, wind energy, nuclear energy and bio-energy.

   Energy Saving and Emission Reduction Sector: It covers high efficiency systems and devices, clean production

   technologies and equipment, new energy-saving materials, intelligent power grids, energy storage systems, remanufacturing

   technologies and equipment, high efficiency consumer goods and new-energy automobiles.

   Environment Protection Sector: It includes waste treatment, recycled utilization, environment monitoring and pollution

   control, public health, comprehensive environment protection designing and services.

   Low-carbon Technologies Sector: This sector includes those technologies that help control the emission of greenhouse gas

   in high energy-consuming and high emission-level industries.

11. Show Area Settings

   The show area is generally divided into two parts, namely China Pavilion and International Pavilion.

   1) China Pavilion

   The China Pavilion is subdivided into two areas, including Show Area for Comprehensive Green Economy in China and

   Show Area for Green Industries in China.

   Show Area for Comprehensive Green Economy in China (focused on policies and future trends of Green

   Economy): This area is mainly designed to display the evolutions, policies and achievements of China’s green industries

   and green economy. Colleges and research institutes are also invited to show their R&D achievements in green industries.

   Show Area for Green Industries (focused on real companies and products): This area is divided into four segments

   namely clean energy area, environment protection area, energy saving & emission reduction area and low-carbon

   technology area. The area will show first-rank Chinese companies, technologies and products in green industries.

   2) International Pavilion

   More than 20 key countries (regions) famous for green industries and green economy including the U.S., Germany, UK,

   France and Japan are invited to organize their companies to attend the expo and display to the world their special expertise

   in their national pavilion (each of the countries will be organized as a special national pavilion).

12. Expo Fees & Booth Allocation

   1) Since CIGIE 2010 is a public welfare expo, exhibition space (standard booth and raw space) will be offered for the

   exhibitors free of charge and the organizing committee will allocate the booths in a coordinated manner.

   2) In case that special designing and decorations are needed, the fees incurred shall be covered by the exhibitors

   concerned.

   3) Upon receiving the registration forms from the exhibitors, the working experts group will examine their technological

   qualifications.

     The Organizing Committee of China International Green Industry Expo 2010 (CIGIE 2010) presents its compliments to
your esteemed company and takes the honor of inviting you to attend the CIGIE 2010 during Nov. 24-Nov. 27, 2010 in Beijing
Exhibition Center, China, initiated by Chinese government with the purpose of facilitating the transformation of economic growth
mode and economic restructuring of China and enhancing international cooperation in green industries and green economic
sectors around the world to jointly cope with the issue of global climate changes.
     CIGIE 2010 is hosted jointly by 12 ministries and commissions of China including the Ministry of Commerce, the
Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of
Education, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Finance,
the Ministry of Environmental Protection, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, the Ministry of Transport, the
State Intellectual Property Office, and the Chinese Academy of Science. Being a highest state-level expo in green industries and
green economy of China, CIGIE 2010 will be featured with outstanding international participation, sophisticated technologies
and public welfare orientation.
     The exhibition area for the expo totals 22000 m2. With special financial support provided by Chinese government, the
exhibition space (standard booth and raw space) will be offered for the exhibitors free of charge. Focused on clean energy,
energy-saving and emission-reducing industries, environment protection industries and low carbon technologies, the CIGIE
2010 will display first-class companies, technologies and products in green industries and green economy. Topic forums,
workshops, B2B meetings, legal services and press conferences will also be held to generate business opportunities for the
exhibitors. Meanwhile, we will launch China International Forum on Green Industry and Green Economy 2010 in parallel with
the expo. Chinese national leaders, leaders of ministries, commissions and provinces, international politicians, top business
executives, experts and scholars will be invited to attend the expo and forum. Chinese and international media will be
encouraged to have a full coverage on the expo and forums.
     Based on recommendations of associations and organizations in the green industries, we have selected out more than
300 renowned companies for the list of future invitation and will finalize the list according to the final plan of CIGIE 2010. Given
that the preparation time for the expo is very short and that the months of July and August will be vacations for many of you,
we hereby inform you of the detailed information of the expo and will issue formal invitations upon receiving your intention of
