Dear Industry Executive:

It is with great pleasure that the Omega Chapter of Gamma Iota Sigma submits for your
consideration this Resume Book for 2007-2008. Resumes are included for many of our
members.

You will note from the resumes that our chapter remains very active. This is a continuation of the
intense service and professional involvement of Omega Chapter members. We have won the
Bowers Award twice for being selected as the ―Most Outstanding Chapter‖ in the country, and
five of our students have won the Weeks Award for being selected as the ―Most Outstanding
Insurance Student‖ in the country. We have won numerous other awards for community and
service activities.

We have prepared this book to aid you in your recruiting efforts for career positions. I hope that
you will examine carefully the credentials of students who provided resumes. Most have
followed a curriculum with a strong orientation to insurance, risk management, and/or financial
planning. A few have majors or minors in other areas but have indicated an interest in insurance
and have taken courses in the field. You will note that many have outstanding academic records,
participate in extracurricular activities, and are active in community affairs. With the diversity of
career goals they have indicated, I hope that you will find one or more who have the interest and
qualifications for the position(s) you have to fill.

Please feel free to contact any of our members. Their submission of a resume indicates their
interest in a position in insurance or a related field.

Thank you for your time and cooperation.

Sincerely,

Derek Pace
President

Education:
I am currently a junior at MTSU perusing a double major in actuarial science and insurance. I
transferred to MTSU for fall 2007 from Colby College in Waterville Maine. I was also a double
major at Colby in biology and math. My first semester at Colby was spent studying abroad in
Salamanca, Spain. The reason for the transfer was because I wanted a career after college and
Colby was primarily focused on having there graduates attend graduate school.

Work Experience:
I volunteered at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois helping file cases and shadowing a
breast surgeon for one week over the summer. The following summer I volunteered again at
Cook County Hospital, but this time I shadowed co-rectal surgeon as he preformed
colonoscopies and endoscopies. I have also worked as a lifeguard and swim instructor for a
YMCA in Oak Park, Illinois. I worked this job for three consecutive summers. Currently I work
as a volleyball coach and referee in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Life Experience:
I have never lived longer then four years in a particular place. I was born in Sarajevo, Bosnia
and Herzegovina and lived there for my first four years. Then I moved to London, Ontario in
Canada and lived there for six years in two different places. Then I moved to Pittsburg,
Pennsylvania and lived there for two years. Then I moved to the Chicago area and lived there
for eight years in three different places. Finally I moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee and have
been living there for three months. The reason for all of this moving was because of my
mothers’ job. She is a physician and our family moved because of better opportunities.

Thank you for your time and hope to hear from you soon.
