Eureka! Non-toxic Ethylene Glycol!
EUREKA is not a word commonly associated to the world of heat transfer fluids and,
to be truthful, it took many years of R&D before that ‘magic moment’ finally arrived.
In concise terms Hydratech DeTox™ fluids facilitate more efficient heat transfer,
reduced power consumption and lower cost of installation when compared with
heating and cooling systems filled with Propylene Glycol (PG) based fluids.
Our detoxified products eliminate the worry of installing dangerous Ethylene
Glycol (EG) fluids as there is no risk to children, adults or pets. In association with
animal welfare societies, FDA, ASTM and other standards organisations we are
promoting the safety benefits of DTX products to all sectors where standard
(toxic) EG is used.
Following the discovery a complete range of DTX fluids was formulated with
proven inhibitors for several applications. Including;
• Thermox DTX Geothermal & Air Source Heat Recovery
• Solaris DTX Solar Thermal & High Temperature
• CoolFlow DTX Refrigeration & Air Conditioning

The DeTox™ technology is also being utilised in
a range of patented waterless (liquid) coolants
for diesel engines. As with all heat transfer fluids
manufactured by Hydratech, the DTX range
was extensively tested in accordance with
BS6580 and ASTM D1384 and proven to
                                     exceed all corrosion resistance standards.
To underpin the DTX range Hydratech have,
                                     for many years, manufactured ’traditional’
PG, EG and vegetable based fluids. CoolFlow
ECO2 and Thermox FXC2 still remain the fluids
of choice for customers wanting a ‘green solution’ in their systems. Hydratech also
provide a technical consultancy service that is second to none.

Wilo’s ‘A’ rated high efficiency small circulating pumps – Wilo-Stratos
PICO and Wilo-Smart A - offering up to 90% energy savings over
standard pumps - will be the Wilo stars of the Renewable Roadshows
in 2011. Both are ‘A’ rated small circulators with five year ‘A label
warranties’. These pumps put Wilo in a strong position with the new
regulations relating to energy efficient small pumps from Europe,(ErP),
that will outlaw conventional, standard pumps across Europe from
2013 in stand-alone installations and from boiler integrated pump ‘set

Wilo had its best ever year worldwide in 2010, a trend that was
reflected in the company’s performance in the UK, and it continues to
grow its marketshare in 2011. Voted Pump Manufacturer of the Year in
2011 in the Pump Industry Awards, Wilo pumps are continuing to
grow in popularity with installers with increasing numbers switching to
the Wilo brand. Available through all the main merchant channels and
from an ever wider range of independent merchants across the UK,
Wilo domestic pumps are as ‘green’ as they get, with impeccable

Radiators – the logical answer
to renewable heating
When it comes to sharing heat in a home or a building that benefits
from a renewable heating system, radiators are streets ahead of other
options. And as you might expect, Stelrad offers a range of options
that will be spot on.
You may have read articles saying that ‘underfloor’ is your only
option with the lower operating temperatures that renewable systems
provide. Simply not true. You need to consider a larger heat emitting
surface but not one where the heat emission can be compromised by
the floor covering you choose.
Stelrad’s new Vertical radiator range offer a much larger heat
emitting surface and take up less horizontal space on the walls so
provides an ideal option for renewable heating systems whilst offering
additional space for interior decorators. And its new K3 radiators offer
three panels and three convector fins for the same wall size as single
or double panel radiators – another excellent way to get more heat
into a room.

Vertical radiators – pleasing and practical ‘boiler driven’ heating systems. Radiators, particularly the latest
