The Annual Data Check outlines the contact and emergency information that we hold, please
record any changes in contact numbers etc and return the form.
The local visit permission form allows pupils to go on local visits eg the park, library etc.
Photographs – if you do not wish your child to be photographed during school events, please
contact the school office.
Absence procedure - if your child is to be absent, please telephone the school early, on the
first day, to let us know.

Please remember that there are pupils in our school who are seriously allergic to peanuts. It is
vitally important that no peanuts or peanut products are brought into school.

The photographer will be in school on Monday 24 August to take individual photographs for all
pupils, family groups of children attending the school, and a class photo of P1 and P7.
The safety of the children is paramount and it is for this reason that the zig-zag areas have been
designated and anyone parking in them could be fined.
When children in the infant classes leave it is important for us to see that they are with their
parents and this is why class teachers will bring the P1 and P2 classes out to the gate. Now that
term is underway and the children are settled please wait for your child at the railings and not
near the annexe and infant steps.

The pupils look smart in their uniforms and it is both school and Glasgow City Council policy to
have a dress code/uniform in all schools. Football strips are not allowed even for PE. Children
need to bring a jacket for playtimes, in case of poor weather.
Our uniform is a yellow poloshirt and navy sweatshirt with navy trousers or skirts.
No jewellery is allowed on PE days. Please do not get ears pierced during the school session as
children will miss 6 weeks of PE lessons while earrings cannot be removed.
All equipment and clothing must be clearly marked with name and class.
Each class will be allocated PE times and the pupils will need to bring their PE kit on those days
- shorts, T-shirt and gym shoes. Times are as follows-
P2 – Tuesday and Thursday P5B – Tuesday, P5A- Thursday
P3 – Monday and Tuesday P6 – Wednesday and Friday
P4 – Monday and Thursday P7 – Monday (swimming groups on Tuesday)
(P1s on Mondays after 7 September)

At lunchtime we expect that most children will attend dinner school (Fuel Zone) or bring a
packed lunch.
If you are collecting and returning your child to school at lunchtime , you should write a letter to
the class teacher and collect your child from the office. Children will not be allowed to leave
school without advance written notice and an adult presence. If you have any queries about this,
please phone the office to make an appointment.
Clothing grant and free school meal application forms are available on the GCC website
( and from the school office. Lunches cost £1.15 from the Fuel Zone.

Tuesday 1 September
The information evening will start with a meeting in the main hall followed by classroom visits
and an opportunity to be introduced to your child’s class teacher. We will be giving out a leaflet
which summarises the class learning programme and topics for the session.
This will be preceded by a Parent Forum meeting open to all parents.

Our BBQ and Ceilidh is on Friday 28 August from 6.30 – 8.30pm. Everyone is invited to this
family and school community event – it’s a great opportunity to meet everyone. Entry £2 adult,
£1 child, £5 family: tickets can be bought on the night or from school during week beginning 24
Please can you make sure that your child has their own pencil case with HB pencils, rubber,
sharpener, felt tips and a gluestick. Resources are very stretched this year and if all children
have their own things it will be a great help.

We have been developing our school website which we hope to have “go live” in the week
commencing 24 August. We will have a webclub run by pupils to further develop the site and
upload information regularly. The web-site address is

Leaflets on Curriculum for Excellence, Homework, Anti-bullying, School Ethos,
Staff/Parents/Pupils Agreement and Class Information will all be available at the Parents
Information Evening on 1 September, or can be picked up from the school office.

The Ecokidz will be continuing their work this year, and would like to remind everyone that the
clothing bank in the playground is open to the community. This is a great way to recycle your
unneeded items and also raises funds for the school.
