Professional Experience (20 years)
I have 20 years professional experience in archaeology, including experience in architectural
(HABS/HAER) documentation of verancular and log architecture, oral- and archival-research of light
industry, urban, and rural landscapes, prehistoric and historic archaeology, laboratory analysis and
database systems, drafting, photography, report writing and report production. I have worked as a
historical archaeologist since. 1981 My research in Hawai>i includes both pre- and post-contact Hawaiian
sites on Maui, O>ahu, and the Island of Hawaii. My current research in Hawai>i includes a study of the
early postcontact record of Honolulu. My professional experience in historical archaeology includes
Native Hawaiian, EuroAmerican, Asian American, African American, and Native American sites dating
from the 18th-20th c. Work on the U.S. Mainland includes studies in the Pacific Northwest, the East,
Southeast, Midwest, and Texas.
