Santa Barbara County SELPA Job Announcement Mental Health Clinical Specialist Position closes August 11, 2011 Applications must be received in the SELPA Office by 5:00 p.m., Thursday, August 11th to be considered for this position. The Santa Barbara County SELPA is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Mental Health Clinical Specialist. The Mental Health Clinical Specialist will coordinate and oversee the clinical mental health special education services for students with Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in the Santa Barbara County Special Education Local Plan Area, including monitoring of students with mental illness placed via an IEP in residential non- public schools (NPS). Candidates must possess the following qualifications: Must have one of the following: 1) License as a Marriage, Family, Child Counselor or Marriage and Family Therapist issued by a licensing agency within the Department of Consumer Affairs; 2) License as a Clinical Psychologist issued by a licensing agency within the Department of Consumer Affairs. 3) License as a Clinical Social Worker issued by the a licensing agency within the Department of Consumer Affairs 4) Dual licensure as an Educational Psychologist with one of the above clinical licenses and/or clinical psychologist licensure is highly preferred Must have a valid California Driver’s License. Any combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to master’s degree or Ph. D. in psychology, mental health counseling, or social work. One year of post-license experience in counseling and crisis intervention to children, adolescents, and their families in an educational setting and experience working with youth placed in residential treatment facilities and their families is highly preferred. Starting Salary range: $72,101 to $86,577 depending on experience and licensure. Fully paid medical, dental and vision coverage. 195 day work year.
