CCIM Web Series 3 of 3 C&M Relocation Systems
CI-INTRO @ North San
Diego County AOR
The economy has brought a giant set of new challenges we all have had to
learn how to overcome, and the first thing a lot of companies are looking at is
cutting costs. There are some experts that see a quarter of companies
CI-103 @ USD expected to cut costs in 2009 by reducing space requirements. As many
companies seek to ride out the recession by relocating, downsizing or
consolidating their property options, HR has to deal with the disruption this
June 17 inevitably causes employees. The problem is not so much about organizing a
CCIM Web Series move as getting people to happily take part in one, particularly when it's driven
by pressures that have developed from the recession.
Some tips to keep in mind if your company is considering a move:
Plan ahead- Relocation often takes time to plan from start to finish. So the
Golf & Wine Classic - earlier you start planning, the better.
Riverwalk Golf Club Keep morale up- Promote the positive as much as possible, which means
stressing that the working environment will be better. Your employees will be
encouraged to think and work differently, and will be able to make better use of
technology. It also represents an opportunity for a fresh start.
July 20-24 Strike a deal- It's a good time from a property point of view as occupiers are in
a position to negotiate very competitive terms on both rent and lease terms.
CI-104 @ USD
Talk the talk- Keep staff informed during the process and make sure they feel
included in the decision making by, for example, helping choose the decor or
August 24-26 layout of offices.
CCIM CCR & Exam - In other words, moving offices can be a positive experience if well handled.
