Florida State Society Governor Robbie Burt visits Stephen Hopkins Colony
                           Thursday, February 10, 2011

Robbie Burt with Stephen Hopkins Colony Governor, Aline Scott

"Robert E. Burt, Governor of the Florida Society of Mayflower Descendants, addressed the
Stephen Hopkins Colony at their winter meeting on February 10, 2011, at C. J. Cannon's
Restaurant in Vero Beach. Burt, of Key Largo, Florida, is the co-author with his wife, now
deceased, of several books on family history. He has served with distinction in various
capacities with other service and hereditary organizations, such as the Boy Scouts of America,
Sons of the American Revolution, and the General Society of the Descendants of Washington's
Army at Valley Forge. He is veteran of World War II, a 32nd Degree Mason, and an Eagle Scout.

"Robbie Burt's interesting talk focused on some of his activities as Governor of the Florida
Society as well as several anecdotes occurring as a result of his attendance at many Colony
meetings across the state. Mr. Burt was accompanied to the meeting by his wife, Trudy, who
was a lively participant in the conversation and a welcome supplier of details in her husband's
speech."
