Advertising Executive Joyce King Thomas Elected to Nurse-Family
Partnership Board of Directors

DENVER, CO (June 27, 2011) — Nurse-Family Partnership®, a leading non-profit organization
addressing the needs of low-income, first-time parents and their children, announced the appointment of
Joyce King Thomas to the Nurse-Family Partnership Board of Directors.


King Thomas is the former chief creative officer at McCann Erickson New York, one of the world’s
largest advertising agencies, where she created the award-winning “Priceless” advertising campaign for
MasterCard. She served as CCO at McCann Erickson New York from 2004 to 2010, and was previously
executive creative director for nine years. During her tenure she helped create some of the world’s leading
brands, including Staples, General Mills, Verizon, Weight Watchers and the U.S. Army.


“Joyce is a legend in the advertising world, particularly for her exceptional and groundbreaking creative
skills,” said Thomas R. Jenkins, Jr., president and chief executive officer, Nurse-Family Partnership. “Her
experience and guidance will be invaluable as we continue to build awareness of the Nurse-Family
Partnership program and brand nationwide.”


King Thomas chaired McCann’s global creative council; chaired the Ad Council Creative Review
Committee for six years; and served as board member of The One Club from 2004-2006. In 2009, she
received the Mother of the Year Award from Advertising Women of New York. King Thomas began her
advertising career at Young and Rubicam in 1983. She is a graduate of the University of Missouri
Journalism School, where she gave the commencement address in 2005.
