CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
Our next Issue of Spaces E-Journal is due to be released in the Spring of 2008. We will begin accepting submissions for the journal as of November 12th, 2007. Please see the submission guidelines below: Spaces provides a forum to critique, examine and re-define how educational research is understood and practiced. Articles submitted should explore a diversity of pedagogical philosophies and research practices inherent to the Arts and Humanities. Works from disciplines across the Arts and Humanities, including English, Philosophy, History, Art, Music and Drama are strongly encouraged, as are works that challenge the very notion of “disciplines”. Innovative text and image formats are recommended. We are looking for work that addresses topics including, but not limited to, the following:
• • • • • • • • • •
The roles and potential of “practice” in the arts and humanities The arts as a space of learning The arts as research practice Education beyond schools The arts and humanities beyond the school Politics, and policy in the arts and humanities Visual Culture Cultural Theory Aesthetics New Media and New Media Theory in Relation to the Arts
EDITORIAL POLICY
We invite submissions from graduate students. We publish new material twice a year. Articles are considered for publication based on their relevance and contribution to current conversations regarding the philosophies and practices of the arts and humanities as well as Spaces’ stated mission. Creativity, originality, and scholarly competence of the submissions is considered during the review process. The editorial board reviews each submission and determines whether the work should be published as is, revised, or considered unacceptable.
