Thank you for your inquiry about our iParty Teen Lounge event held on The Rooftop. As a mother
myself, I sincerely appreciate your interest and concern.

I will answer your questions here, but feel free to contact me on (301) 202-ROOF should you have
further questions.

The Rooftop is owned by the City of Rockville. My company, Rooftop Events, LLC manages all activities
at this venue. We are in our fourth successful season. This year, we will host about 120 events. These
events range from private rentals, including graduation parties, sweet 16s, Mitzvahs and Weddings. We
also host events that are open to the public, many of which are for youth, including iParty Teen Events
(for teens only), Club Rockville (middle school only) and KidzRock (a dance party for ages 2 – 10).
Our 21+ events including Dancing With The Stars (a 1940 Big Band event geared towards seniors), and
21+ club nights on Thursday (SkyLounge) and Friday (Breeze) nights and the only LGBT Lounge in the
County, which is hosted on the fourth Saturday of each month. We often add events as the season
unfolds.

Last year we launched iParty as a way to reach our county’s youth. This year we are making this a bigger
effort as we ran four very successful and widely attended teen events, for which we received
overwhelmingly positive feedback from many students and parents. Branded this year as “iParty Teen
Lounge Summer Series,” this series consists of multiple events, including one on Memorial Day Sunday,
an event on July 2nd over the holiday weekend and many more, Each of these parties has a particular
theme.

The capacity of the Rooftop is limited by the fire code. While the line for entry to these events has been
long on occasion, we limit our capacity. Last year we did not allow students to leave and re-enter, which
disappointed many students who stood in line for over 30 minutes. This year, while we encourage
students to get in line early as we will stop allowing entrance once to capacity - we will allow students to
leave and re-enter, but ONLY after getting back in line and going through another security check. These
students must show a valid student ID. They will not have to repay and we will track this with special
Rooftop Wrist Bands. Once inside, refreshments will be available for sale.

Onsite during these events are multiple professional staff, including myself, my director of operations (a
trained fireman and EMT), and numerous trained security guards, including one off duty City of Rockville
Police Officer. In addition, the City of Rockville Police are on notice for all of The Rooftop’s events,
especially these teen events and it is not unlikely that multiple on duty Police Officers will make an
appearance before and during the event. PLEASE NOTE THAT CURRENTLY ON FACEBOOK, where our
events are being promoted, many, many kids RSVP to attend. ONLY 300 WILL BE ALLOWED IN AT ONE
TIME. THE LINE WILL LIKELY BEGIN FORMING 1 hour before the doors open. WE WILL MAKE ANY
INCLEMENT WEATHER CANCELLATIONS AND POST IT ON OUR OFFICIAL FACEBOOK PAGES – ROOFTOP
AT ROCKVILLE AND IPARTY TEEN LOUNGE (BOTH PAGES FOUND ON FACEBOOK). I CAN ALSO ADD YOUR
EMAIL TO MY EBLAST WHERE WE WILL ALSO SEND OUT ANY OTHER NOTICES. NOT EVERYONE WILL GET
IN. WE ARE ASKING THAT PARENTS AND RIDES DO NOT LEAVE UNTIL THEY ARE POSITIVE THEIR
STUDENT HAS ENTERED THE BUILDING. OFF DUTY POLICE OFFICERS WILL BE STATIONED ALONG THE
MAIN STREET AND WILL NOT ALLOW KIDS TO LINGER IF THEY DO NOT GET IN.

Last year we hosted four teen events and there were no incidents. We have zero tolerance for students
with bad behavior, or should we suspect drugs or alcohol or a breach of safety or security. I have no
problem revoking entrance privileges or removing a student from the property for unsafe or
disrespectful behavior.

We are very proud of our success in creating a fun and safe environment for students and we are
excited about this season’s iParty Teen Lounge Series. I hope that you’ll allow your child to attend these
events. While the students generally do not like their parents to come by, this Rooftop is open and I’m
more than happy to have you stop in to visit should you feel it necessary.

I hope this helps you to make a better informed decision and allows you to feel comfortable that we
have your best interest at hand.

Kind regards,

Jennifer
