Cost of the Online Advertising Price: How Much Do I Pay?

Online banner advertising can be demonstrated in several ways via the internet. The most
common ways are CPM, CPA & CPC. Below are brief explanations on some Banner online
advertising methods]

 Firstly, Cost per Impression (CPM).This method of advertising targets a certain group of
people. The costing in CPM depends mainly on the number of customer’s impressions.
That is the charges are per thousand of customer’s impressions and the rates are varying
from $25 to $40 for each thousand of impression regardless if or if not the customer
accessed the banner or pay concern to the products.

 Secondly, Coast per Visitor (CPV). The costing scheme in such online advertising
method depends on showing the advertising to targeted visitors and also directing the
     visitors to the advertiser’s website.

 The other method is the Cost per Click (CPC) which is the most common method of
advertising currently. Unlike the previously mentioned methods, the costing or charging
scheme in CPC depends on the visitor’s clicks on an advertisement to lead him to the
advertiser’s website and it ranges between $0.1 and $5.00. That is no charges on
presenting the online advertisement unless it got clicked. The advantages of this method
are that it allows the advertisers to evaluate the performance of their advertisements and
helps the specialist to study the market.
Iman Al Aref H00051305 - Media Atiq H00055731
Maryam Junaid H00097850 Page 6
Dubai Women’s College HD3 E-Business Management

 [Finally, the Cost per Action/Acquisition (CPA). This way reflects the partner marketing
where the publisher is playing the main role in running the advertisement. In this case,
the advertiser has to pay to the publisher once the transaction is completed.

Each online advertising price scheme has its own advantages and disadvantages. Your choice on
how much to budget for advertising depends on what your goals are and the price you are willing
to pay. Some people who run successful ads see as much as a 1% response rate, although most
do significantly under this.
