Start by contacting Andrew Nicholas and his team at THE SYDNEY TAXI SCHOOL for enrolment
and we’ll arrange everything for you. Our extensive Taxi Industry experience can make something
that looks complicated become simple for you ― many students at The Sydney Taxi School
complete the course in less than four weeks. What’s more we will arrange a job for you, either full-
time or part-time!
You’ll need to show that you meet the standards required for taxi driver applicants (otherwise the NSW Ministry of Transport will not
issue a Taxi Driver authority). The standards are in the driver authorisation information package at the school & on our website.
To apply you must be at least 20 years of age and must:
Hold a NSW* drivers licence (fully unrestricted & for 12 months of the last 2 years);
Be legally able to work in Australia
Pass an English Test & Medical Check
Read the MoT 2009 Authorisation Package Fill out an Application form for the NSW Ministry of Transport;
Have satisfied the Director-General of NSW Ministry of Transport that they:
Are of good repute and a fit and proper person to be the driver of a taxi-cab, and
Interstate licence tenure qualifies, but must be changed to NSW
Taxi Driver Training at The Sydney Taxi School in TLI 20207
To be granted Taxi Driver Authorisation to drive a taxi you must successfully complete the following training, activities and
assessment programs:

English assessment at NSW AMES (Adult Migrant English Service) ................................................ Fee - $99

Sydney Taxi School can assist with all of the above. Once we have this information you should enter into a training contract with
Sydney Taxi School ― you’ll have up to 6 months to complete your training.

Enrol in Taxicare Plus, TLI20207 / Bronze Level certificate Course, at the VETAB accredited Sydney Taxi School
Study Modules 1-4 of Taxicare Plus. Do Practice Drives, Map Exercises and Role-Play sessions.
Sit for the Sydney Knowledge Test (5 Sections - Street Knowledge, Major Routes, Locations and Destinations, Regulations and
a Practical Street Directory test). 1st at the school & then at NSW MOT at Parramatta
