									Merry, Merry Christmas!
We may not have snow, but we certainly have the Christmas spirit around the shop!
What a great time of year; everyone getting together and sharing “the love”!!! I hope
this mid-December newsletter finds you all having a wonderful time with friends and
family and all the joys of the holiday. If you’re going away for a time, I pray for safe
travel for you. And if you have family coming to visit, we pray the same for them. Please
take the time to revel in the Greatest Gift of all time, Jesus, and all the many gifts of the
season that we share because of Him.

Now on to “Shop News”…………..The January Class Schedule has been posted to the
website, and we offer a few new classes that should prove to be a
lot of fun. January is a perfect time to get back to knitting with friends and learning
something new. Please take a moment to look at the schedule and see what we have
to offer. Wouldn’t you love to make a “Two-Toes Sock”? Now aren’t you curious?

CROCHETERS----- We NEED you! Please come and join our Thursday afternoon
Crochet-Along group. The Yarn Patch LOVES crochet, and we really want to get this
group off the ground! We’ll be doing more and more classes and crochet-alongs in
2009, and we want your input. We meet every Thursday afternoon from 1:00 – 3:00.
Come on all you hookers – bring your water, coffee, whatever and come join the fun!

December saw the addition of several new YARNS:
 Pagewood Farms Sock Yarn “Yukon”. Great hand-dyed colors and what a
     wonderful hand!
 Great Adirondack: Desoto, Jolie and Souri. Three different weights and textures in
coordinating hand-dyed colors. Great shawl material….
 Marble Chunky from SR Kertzer. We began carrying this great new variegated
chunky in October, but new colors keep arriving! Machine wash & dry; it‟s an easy
     care and easy-to-stitch-with blend.

We‟ve also added new colors to a few yarns that we already love:
 Taos from Crystal Palace Yarns: “Carlsbad” and “Turquoise „n Copper
 Classic Elite LaGran: Grimm‟s Green, Sunflower and Eggplant.

And of course, we‟ve been busy knitting, too! New shop samples include a great hat
designed by Sandra David (pattern is available) using Mission Falls 1824 Wool (wash &
dry – you have to feel this yarn…!) and a vest in “River Twist” by Mountain Colors
Yarn. I chose green for this vest (is there any other color?) and I may just be wearing it
when you come in!
This is The Yarn Patch‟s newest kit – Purse in a Pail! The clear gallon pail includes the
pattern, a big button and all the yarn needed to create the “Wild Thing” purse. The kit
comes in 3 great fashion colors: “Tiger” (shown), “Butterfly” (shown-purple) and
“Alligator” (green of course!). It even comes with an “opener” to get that can open the
right way! If you‟re making the purse as a gift, put it back in the pail and just add a bow!
Lastly, I just want to say once again, how much I appreciate each and every one of you.
Your continued support of the shop, your contributions and great ideas, your words of
advice and inspiration, your smiling faces; this is what makes The Yarn Patch “A Shop to
                                        Call Home”.

From Sheri, Janice, Heather, Cindy, and of course………..Maggie, too!

May you all have a very Merry Christmas, a Blessed New Year,

                      MANY HAPPY STITCHES!!!!
