        Grade 10 Barnyard Theatre Fundraiser
Don‟t forget to get your tickets for the Grade 10 Fundraising show, “Big Top Rock” Rock „n Roll
Circus, at the Barnyard Theatre, Gateway on the 27 October 2011. Tickets cost R135 per person
and all payment is to be made by the 12th October 2011. To book your seat or for more

1st Team drew 0 – 0

The 1st Team won 2 sets to 1. This is an excellent result for our girls as this is an „A‟ league
match! Well done!

On Thursday 4 August 2011 the Senior Primary Hockey Teams played against Northlands at
Riverside. The results were as follows:

U10 D       lost   0–2
U10 C       won    5–0
U10 B       won    9–3
U10 A       won    1–0

U11 B       won    2–0
U11 A       won    1–0

U13 C       lost 1 – 2
U13 B       drew 1 – 1
U13 A       won 2 – 0
On Saturday, 6 August 2011 some of our cross-country girls represented Fatima at the Durban
Central/Durban North combined trials. The top six runners were selected to go to the Umlazi
trials (19 August 2011). Congratulations to Kate Hansen (placed 6 th) and Kyéta Purchase (placed
1st) for their achievement in making the team! Well done to Anita van Rensburg, Hannah Bowes
and Hannah Maujean who all ran very well, but who unfortunately missed the top six cut-off.

On Saturday, 30 August, three Grade 11 girls participated in the „semi final‟ round of the
Toastmasters‟ Competition. All three acquitted themselves exceptionally well! Jenna Uniacke
(Prepared Speech) and Melissa Barden (Evaluation) were placed first in their sections. Although
Dominique Lathe (Impromptu) was not placed, she spoke very well. Jenna and Melissa will
represent Fatima in the Finals at the end of the year.

Tamryn McKie competed at the KZN Junior Swimming Championship gala on the 30th &
31st July 2011 at Kings‟ Park and received a Silver medal for 50m Breaststroke and a Bronze
medal for 50m Butterfly. Congratulations Tamryn! This is a wonderful result!

Sr. Dominique is still appealing for any old books in good condition for her book stand at
this year’s Fun Day! The books can be sent to/handed in at the Front Office.
