Shown on these maps are all roads open to vehicular traffic, road numbers and/or names, landmarks, cultural features
such as public service facilities, educational and correctional institutions, conservation and recreation areas, airports,
rivers and major drainage features, civil division boundaries, and local place names. Because of scale limitations,
some detail in the most urbanized area is better explored on the larger scale STATEWIDE GRID MAPS.

The Grid Map shows greater detail than the county map -- such features as highways, streets (including urban street
detail), road names and/or numbers, educational and correctional institutions, public service facilities, conservation
and recreation areas and other selected traffic generators and/or prominent landmarks, civil division boundaries, and
local place names, railroads, rivers, drainage and other natural features. (No Topography)

Each map sheet represents an area approximately 10 miles x 13 miles (52,000 x 70, 000 feet) and may be assembled

highways. Interchanges, reservations, wildlife areas, forests and parks, State Police barracks, airports, colleges or
Municipal maps are best obtained from individual municipalities or local commercial sources where they may be universities, points of interest and mileage between towns and/or intersections are indicated. Approximately 1,100
expected to be kept current. Maps prepared by the State Highway Administration are intended primarily for record towns and places are shown. Boundary lines for each of Maryland’s twenty-three counties and enlargement insets for
purposes, but are made available to the general public who may find them adaptable for their use. the Baltimore and Washington areas are also shown.
