         Using the template, fill in the blanks to create your own Five Sense Christmas Poem.  Remember to use 
                        vivid language and awesome adjectives to make your poem come to life.

     Using a large piece of construction paper, copy the net, or
template, below. Cut the template along the solid lines. Fold along
  the dotted edges. Glue the folded edges together (clamp with a
paperclip while the glue dries). Make handles for your gift bag out
of paper clips or ribbon. Decorate the outside and add a gift tag.
      Wrap quilled snowflakes in tissue paper and place in bag.
                          Merry Christmas!

        Secret Santa Says ...
           Something Nice!
Have each student pick the name of another student from a
   hat. Students should not reveal whose name they have
picked, but the teacher should write down all the names for
his or her records. Using the provided handout (on the next
page), each student should write 5 personal compliments for
 the student they have chosen. The teacher should check,
  approve, then collect all compliment handouts. Have the
 students leave the room, and place the completed handouts
     on the recipients' desks. Students should read the
compliments they have received about themselves, and FEEL
   GOOD about the compliments they have given and been
                             given.
                 Christmas is about GIVING!

Original Recipe:                                       How many cookies does your 
1/2 cup butter                                     class need so that each student gets
1/2 cup brown sugar                          6 cookies? ___________
1/2 cup white sugar                            How many batches will you have to
1 egg                                                  make? __________
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 cup flour                                            Write your new recipe in the box 
1/4 tsp salt                                           below:
1/2 tsp baking soda
3/4 cup chocolate chips

Mix together and drop onto
baking sheet.  Bake at 375
degrees for 10 minutes.
Makes 2 dozen cookies.
