							What is this phenomenon called social networking? Social networks are comprised of people with common interests, like hobbies, politics or industry specific professions. Social networks may contain friends or family and it allows for easy communication and interactivity for people that are connected in them. There are a few major players in the social networking realm, MySpace, Face Book and Twitter. MySpace has become a household name, but at the time of this writing, Face Book has the largest population of users, MySpace was next and Twitter followed closely behind. MySpace, Twitter and Face Book are all free applications, and two out of the three is currently making millions of dollars. Twitter hasn’t placed ads on their site yet, but I’m sure this won’t last long. So how does this all apply to you and your quest to make money on the internet? What if you wanted to get a message out about a new product you are selling on the internet? Remember the days of the long forwarded emails? Oh wait, those days still exists. Well, that is considered spamming; it’s unsolicited emails that annoy the heck out of people. Know that these social networks are available; there is no need to spam! In these social networks you request friendships and build relationships. More than likely, your messages will be better accepted than some random uninvited email. Now that you don’t have to send unsolicited emails or wait for your website opt-in email form to collect emails, you can build your list of “FRIENDS”. My recommendation is to request about 10 to 15 new friends each day from each social network and always follow the rules of each. By requesting 10 friends from Twitter, 10 from MySpace and 10 from Face Book, in thirty days, you can have approximately 900 people to communicate with. Be sure to apply a theme to your profile that will peak the interest of your friends and make sure you add your website to the profile as well, visitors to your profile that aren’t friends with you, may visit your site out of curiosity. Once you have 900 or more friends, your goal is to develop a free offer, this will attract people to your site, and they receive your free offer after registering on your site. At this point, you would want to use auto responders to guide them to a sale. One last thing, when you visit your profile, make sure you act like you are human!! Why do I say this? Well, if you just try to market to people without interacting with people through your profile, people will start to ignore you. In Face book, you can join and support causes, in MySpace, change your mood every so often, in Twitter, if someone sends you a direct message, please respond. Hopefully you see the value of social networks and realize that it is a practical means of advertising. www.biz-village.info
