                                                2012 Brain Injury Summit: An Invitation
Retreat to the mountains for a unique gathering of national experts and rising leaders in the field of traumatic brain injury care.
The Summit will explore best practices and cutting edge professional interventions across a comprehensive continuum of care
in a setting that fosters discussion, discovery, and professional development.

   • Platform and poster presentations                                          and families dealing with traumatic brain injury are encouraged to

 Educational Objectives:
 Upon completing the conference, participants will be able to:

 1) Examine best clinical practices throughout the continuum of care for management of patients with mild to severe traumatic brain injuries including but
     not limited to the following topics:
       • Medical diagnosis and treatment, including emergency management, neuroimaging, and pharmacologic rehabilitation
       • Evaluation and management of neuromedical conditions such as endocrine dysfunction, sleep disturbance, spasticity, and movement disorders
       • Clinical interventions for the management of cognitive, visual, vestibular, and physical dysfunction
       • Applied technology for rehabilitation
       • Neurobehavioral assessment and treatment
       • Aging and lifelong wellness considerations
       • Ethics, legal concerns, and funding issues

 2) Apply pathobiological and neuroplasticity knowledge to clinical interventions for optimizing recovery from traumatic brain injury

 3) Interpret current research findings and determine implications for application to clinical practice and optimizing patient outcomes

 4) Describe the impact of traumatic brain injury on survivors and their families and identify community resources to improve quality of life

 5) Enhance communication within the network of traumatic brain injury service providers by gaining an understanding of other roles and perspectives
