General Auction Rules
1. Checkout will open no later than 9:00 p.m. Payment by the successful bidder may be made at
   any time during the evening after the checkout opens.
2. Payment in full is mandatory this evening. You may pay by cash, check, VISA, MasterCard or
    American Express. Items may be removed only by showing a “paid” receipt obtained from the

4. Please pay attention to all conditions, restrictions, and expiration dates on items and services. Gift

5. Dates for all trips and similar events must be mutually arranged with donor, unless otherwise
   noted. All reservations should be made at least one month in advance. No refunds are permitted
   for canceled, lost, or unused tickets and/or accommodations.
6. St. Lawrence Martyr School has attempted to describe and catalog all items correctly. All items are
    sold ‘as is’. St. Lawrence Martyr School neither warrants nor represents, and shall in no event
    be responsible for the correctness of the descriptions, genuineness, authorship, provenance, or
    condition of the property. No statement contained in this catalog or made orally at the sale or
    elsewhere shall be deemed such a warranty, representation, or assumption of liability.
7. All sales are final. No exchanges or refunds unless otherwise indicated.

           Live Auction Rules
      1. The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the purchaser, who will confirm the
          sale by signing an auction invoice which constitutes a legal contract to buy.
      2. Auctioneer reserves the right to settle any and all disputes, complaints, misunderstandings, errors,
          and sales at his discretion. The auctioneer’s decision will be final.

         Silent Auction Rules
      1. All items have bid sheets attached or nearby. Enter a bid by writing your bid number and full
         name next to the bid amount you desire.
      2. You may skip ahead to the bid amount you want to pay. The next bidder must bid higher than
          you to be successful.
      3. Announcements will be made prior to the closing of each auction area. The closing bid certified
          by an Auction Official will constitute the winning bid.
      4. At closing time, the Auction Administration Team will begin to close the area. Bidding may
         continue on any item until an authorized member of the Auction Administration Committee
         collects the bid sheet. If anyone is writing a bid when the bid sheet is to be collected, that bid will
         be allowed. Furthermore, any other bidders desiring to write a bid on that item will be allowed
         the opportunity as long as the bidding is continuous. As soon as there is a pause in the bidding,
         the committee member will facilitate a short countdown before pulling the bid sheet and closing
         out the bidding on the item. The bidder number, name of the bidder and bid amount must be
         written on the bid sheet to be considered valid.

Mark’s talent, enthusiasm and sense of humor grab
everyone’s attention. As one client put it, “Mark’s passion
really gets the crowd going!” After having been involved
in the auction profession as a young man and working
as a ringman/spotter for over a decade, Mark Drilling
attended the Western College of Auctioneering to become
an auctioneer. Mark has been serving the non profit
community for nearly two decades. He is a member of the
National Auctioneers Association and sits on the board of
the Active Auctioneers Foundation.

Mark began his career in the auctioneering business in the early ’90s when he took positions
at the Puget Sound Auto Auction as the General Sales Manager. It was there that he met Jeff
Stokes and Mark Schenfeld, who invited Mark to join Stokes Auction Group. Mark and his
family eventually moved back to his home town to open the Southern California office of the
Stokes Auction Group, Inc. to pursue his career in the auction business.
Whether he’s working with private schools, religious organizations or helping raise money for
medical research, Mark truly feels he’s making a difference and that he has the best job in
the world. While Mark finds it difficult to pick a favorite, he does have a special place in his
heart for charities benefiting children.

Mark and his wife, Janene, have 3 children: Alexa, who is a graduate of Whittier College,
Joshua, who is attending the University of California Berkeley and Katherine, who is starting
her sophomore year in high school. His other great passion in life is surfing and when he’s
not working you can find him at the beach.
