Château Gruaud-Larose is a relative newcomer among classified estates,
having been founded in 1725. This estate is known for producing an earthy,
leathery, densely packed wine that typically suggests an almost roasted
ripeness. This wine’s deceptive approachability early on is owed to its
sweet fruit, but its major tannic clout generally calls for extended aging. 92
points Wine Spectator.

This wine captured all the intensity of the long growing season
experienced that year. The aroma is intense, full of cassis-like fruit character. The fruit is
balanced out on the palate with a rich, complex jamminess enhanced by storage in small
French and American oak barrels. The aggressiveness of the Cabernet has been softened
by the addition of approximately 12% Merlot, which gives the wine an elegant silkiness and
memorable finish.

Classifications often fail to reflect the current state of a Château, and that’s

Trefethen’s Cabernet Sauvignon vines are planted in gravelly soils that
warm quickly in the spring. This warmer site, combined with limited
yields, produces Cabernet Sauvignon fruit with bright, complex flavors, resulting in wine
with deep ruby color and heady aromas of plums, blackberries, and forest-floor spice. Two
750ml bottles. All wine bottles have been stored professionally at 55 degrees. We recommend decanting the wine
before tasting.

Few in the wine world had heard of Tertre-Rôteboeuf prior to the 1980s, but
since then, Bordeaux enthusiasts have discovered that iconoclast proprietor
François Mitjavile makes one of the Bordeaux region’s most flamboyantly
full-blown wines. The key? Low-acid grapes harvested at the point of over-
ripeness for maximum maturity of tannins. 90 points Robert Parker’s Wine

In a career that spanned half a century, from the late 1940s–1990s,
Freeman Butts created thousands of drawings, watercolors and
acrylic paintings on paper and canvas and sculptures in ceramics and
bronze. A big, exuberant man who reveled in all of the pleasures of
life, the late Freeman Butts embraced early on the vigorous brushwork
of action painting. A vast majority of his work is figurative, inspired
by the female nude and the landscape. His work can be found at the

my love of horses began with a bareback ride on the beach. The
