       2007 - I am currently working on developing a full-version case studies about an entry and hiring strategy in
              emerging countries such as China and Vietnam that can be used in the FSB summer and winter
              workshop program.
       2007 - I am currently developing a new research framework for analyzing software piracy problems between
              US and Asian countries such as China, Vietnam, Korea, and Japan. As explained below, I submitted an
              Assigned Research Appointment (ARA) proposal.

       2007-2008: Director of the FSB Higgin Kim Asia Business Program: Building Exchange Agreements: During last
             year, I concentrated on building collaboration/exchange agreements with strategically important
             universities in Asia. Building a partner university requires research, network, communication, agreement
             draft, and adjustment and approval between both schools and often took months. I was in charge of
             establishing the exchange agreements with the following prestigious universities in Asia. Chinese
             University of Hong Kong Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Shanghai, China Vietnam
             National University, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam Sun Yat Sen University, Guangzhou, China: (I drafted the
             activity agreement. This agreement was put on hold.) B. Recruiting, guiding, and advising students who
             participated in the FSB Asia Exchange programs. I was in charge of all FSB Asia Exchange programs
             until June. In August, the China exchange programs were given to the China Business Program
             professor. Recruiting for Chinese University of Hong Kong spring 2008 was done by me. I began to
             operate two exchange programs in Korea since the fall of 2007. ' Yonsei University: One student
             participated in spring and five students participated in fall semester at Yonsei exchange Program. ' U. of
             Seoul Summer program: I proposed and developed a summer Asia program opportunity at University of
             Seoul for FSB graduate students. Seven Masters of Accountancy and one MBA student participated in
             the summer program. ' Peking University: Three students completed the Peking University in the spring.
             ' Chinese University of Hong Kong: 3 students (recruited for spring 08) Three students have been
             recruited for spring 2008. ' Winter Southeast Asia program with Vietnam National University, Saigon
             Eighteen students participated in the program. I designed and developed the inaugural FSB Winter
             Southeast Asia Program (December 26-Jan. 11): Travel route: Vietnam Saigon-Cambodia Angkor Wat-
             Vietnam Hanoi-Ha long Bay-Hong Kong. (Detail explanation was given in the new program development
              above.) Development of FSB Faculty Asia program: To promote faculty learning opportunities in Asia,
              short-tem summer teaching opportunities were developed at Yonsei University (summer 2007) and
              University of Seoul (for summer 2008). Professor Mark McBride taught an Economics course at Yonsei
              University during the summer 2007. In exchange, Professor Yu, Chungsik of Yonsei University came to
              Miami and taught a class about the Asian economy during the summer at Miami. Three FSB faculty
              members (Drs. Doug Havelka, Atintra Sen, and Mike Curme) were recruited to teach classes at
              University of Seoul summer program in 2008. I was in charge of guiding visiting exchange professors.
              Additionally, I designed and developed the FSB Faculty Study Trip to Asia during the summer. Five
              faculty members participated in the trip to Beijing, China and Seoul, Korea. D. Arranging Asian Visitors:
              (May 2-3) Mr. Changwoo Soh, CEO, Papa John's Korea. Mr. Soh is a major corporate sponsor (Miami
              MBA 1984) in Korea for the Pacific Rim Summer program over the last ten years. He invited students to
              his company plant and made presentations about his international business models. He also invited
              students to his home as a host family. He visited Miami and made a presentation about his business
              model to students and faculty in addition to meeting with Dean Jenkins. I arranged his visit with the
              help of the FSB external office. (June 29-July 1) Three visitors from Shanghai University of Finance and
              Economics VP Zhou Zhongfei, Prof. Zhu Weiqun, Deputy Dean of Graduate School, and Director Jin
              Yamin I made the arrangement for the visitors but was unable to escort them due to an unexpected trip
              due to a personal emergency. (Oct. 9-11): Mr. Sukeo Kanabayashi, CEO, Tokyo Doll I assisted Dean
              Jenkins and Alan Oak for Mr. Kanabayashi's visit to Miami who has been the major sponsor of Pacific
              Rim Summer program since 1997. (Oct. 22-25) Three visitors from the Vietnam National University, Ho
              Chi Minh City Prof. Nguyen Van Trinh, Vice Dean of Faculty of Economics Dr. Le Thanh Long, Vice-
              Director of Department of International Relations Prof. Nguyen Thi Canh, Head of Department of
              Finance and Banking: They visited Miami to sign on the general exchange agreement with Miami
              University. I was in charge of group's itinerary and local arrangements. E. Program Publication and
              others: " The first newsletter (attached) both on-line and printed versions were published with the help
              of External Office in 2007. Numerous hours were spent to publish the first program newsletter. " The
              website (http://www.sba.muohio.edu/asiaep/ ) for the Higgin Kim Asia Business Program was
              renovated with the help of a student during the fall semester. " I was invited to a radio talk (World View
              radio Program) at WMKV (89.3 FM). I talked about Korea and the FSB Asia programs. It was aired from
              7-8PM on Jan. 13, 2008 and was produced by John Hofmann. " Attended International Program Fair

       2006 - Administrative: I wrote a new center proposal, the Higgin Kim Asia Business Program, for Richard T.
              Farmer School of Business and helped our school receive $1,000,000 gift from the donor, Dr. Higgin
              Kim. Dr. Higgin Kim is the president of the Miami Alumni Association in Korea and the CEO of Byucksan
              Engineering and Construction Co. He has been a strong supporter of the FSB Pacific Rim Summer
              Program during the last ten years. I believe this endowment will have an impact on FSB students and
              facultys learning and research about Asia and Asia business in the future.
