IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR QUICKEN USERS
STEP 1:
Sign Up for M&T Direct Connect in M&T Web Banking®
In order to continue using Quicken with M&T Bank, please go to mtb.com/dcc to sign up for
M&T Direct Connect. You’ll need to be enrolled in M&T Web Banking to sign up, and will be
asked to provide your M&T Web Banking User ID and Passcode as shown below.

If you need help with your M&T Web Banking User ID and Passcode,
please call us at 866-791-0663.


                                                            If you are not enrolled in M&T Web
                                                            Banking, please go to mtb.com/mdcc to
                                                            start the enrollment process for Step 1.


                                                             If you would like to access your M&T
                                                             business accounts in Quicken, please go to
                                                             mtb.com/bdcc to sign up for M&T Direct
                                                             Connect. Then complete the remainder of
                                                             this guide.




Once you complete the M&T Direct Connect enrollment, please continue with the following steps
within your Quicken software.

BACK UP YOUR CURRENT DATA IN QUICKEN
Begin by opening your Quicken 2009 – 2011 software. If you’re using an older version you will
need to upgrade your software (Quicken only supports 2009-2011). If you’re using Quicken
Mac or QuickBooks software, please go to mtb.com/dccinfo for your instructions.

The backup of your current data is a good precaution.

A. Choose File menu then Backup.




B. Specify in the Quicken Backup dialog below which file to backup and where you want the
   backup saved on your computer and then click OK.

DOWNLOAD THE LATEST QUICKEN SOFTWARE UPDATE

A. Click the Update icon on the Quicken toolbar.

B. In the One Step Updates Setting screen, uncheck all boxes (see below) then click Update Now




C. If an update is available, Quicken will provide a description of the update and brief instructions
   for receiving the update.

D. When the update is complete, close Quicken.

E. Reopen Quicken.

DELETE REPEATING ONLINE PAYMENTS IN QUICKEN
(Skip this step if you do not use bill pay or repeating payments in Quicken)


IMPORTANT: This step must be completed to avoid possible duplicate payments.

A repeating online payment is one made automatically by Quicken after you have sent one initial
online payment instruction that specifies the payment amount, frequency, and delivery dates. After
creation, we will continue to send payments until you cancel the transaction or until it expires.

Please note: you do not have to re-enter payee information.

Quicken 2011:
Choose Tools then Manage Bill and Income Reminders.

Quicken 2009-2010:
Choose Cash Flow menu then Scheduled Transaction List

A. Click the Repeating Online tab.

B. Click Print so you’ll have your repeating payments for reference when you recreate them later
   in the process.

C. Click to highlight the first payment in the Name/Payee column, and click Delete.
   Click Delete again to confirm. The transaction Method changes from Repeat to Repeat-Cancel.




D. Repeat step C for each repeating online payment.

E. Close the Scheduled Transaction List dialog when complete.

DELETE FUTURE DATED ONLINE PAYMENTS IN QUICKEN
(Skip if you do not use bill pay or do not have future dated payments)


IMPORTANT: This step must be completed to avoid possible duplicate payment.

Quicken 2010 and 2011:                            Quicken 2009:
Choose Tools then Online Center                   Choose Online menu then Online Center


A. Select M&T Bank from the Financial Institution drop-down list.

B. Click the Payments tab.

C. Click Print to save your list of pending payments. You can use this when you recreate and
   send these payments later on.

D. Cancel payment for each Payee with a Status that is scheduled for delivery on a future date.
   Select the first payee then click Cancel Payment.
       **The Status column reflects this change by noting
          “Cancel payment instruction ready to send”

E. Repeat the above steps for each payee with a pending payment

GET YOUR LATEST TRANSACTIONS (THROUGH JULY 12)
IN QUICKEN
IMPORTANT: This step is important in order to keep your history of M&T transactions continuous
and complete. Download your M&T account information as you normally would in Quicken. The
account information beyond July 12 will not be available in this step. After August 31, you will not
be able to download M&T transactions from prior to July 13.

Quicken 2010 and 2011:                             Quicken 2009:
Choose Tools then Online Center                    Choose Online menu then Online Center.

A. Select M&T Bank from the Financial Institution drop-down list.

B. Click Update/Send




C. In the Online Update for this account make sure all M&T items are checked.
   Enter your regular PIN (not your Web Banking Passcode) then click Update Now.
   Note: You will not need to enter your PIN if you use the Quicken PIN Vault.




D. If new transactions display in the Online Update Summary window, accept them in your
   Quicken account register.

For assistance reconciling your account register, choose Help menu then Quicken Help and search
for “Reconciling an account.”

TEMPORARILY REMOVE YOUR M&T ACCOUNT(S)
FROM ONE STEP UPDATE
IMPORTANT: This step is only a temporary removal of your M&T account from One Step Update.
Do NOT make changes to your accounts with other financial institutions as part of this procedure.
Rest assured that your prior transaction history will remain intact.

A. Right-click your M&T account from the Quicken Account List then
   select Edit account from the pop-up.
   QUICKEN 2010 and 2011          QUICKEN 2009




B. Click the Online Services Tab. In the One Step Update Section, it will state the connection
   method. Disable the account by clicking on the “Remove from One Step Update”.
   If using bill payment, click “Deactivate Online Payment” in the Online Payment section.

C. Click OK to close the Account Details dialogue.




Repeat steps A through C for each account (such as checking, savings, etc.). Verify that each ac-
count is deactivated by choosing Tools menu Account List. As each online account is deactivated,
the word Activated disappears for that account in the Online Services column.

ADD YOUR M&T ACCOUNT(S) TO ONE STEP UPDATE
IN QUICKEN
IMPORTANT: In this step you will need to enter your M&T Web Banking User ID and Passcode.

A. Right-click your account from the Quicken Account List then select Edit account from the pop-up.

   QUICKEN WINDOWS 2010 PREMIER AND DELUXE
A1. After right clicking on the account, and selecting Edit Account, highlight the “Financial
    Institution” field, and type “M&T Bank Direct Connect – NEW”. Then Select the
    “Online Services” tab.




B. Click on the Online Services Tab. In the One Step Update section, it will state to
   your connection method is a Manual account. Be sure it says “M&T Bank Direct Connect - New”
   Click Activate One Step Update.

ADD YOUR M&T ACCOUNT(S) TO ONE STEP UPDATE
IN QUICKEN

C. Type in your M&T Web Banking User ID and Passcode. Be sure the top of the
   screen says “M&T Bank Direct Connect – New”.




C1. Select “Exists in Quicken” for any accounts that already exist in Quicken so
    payments and accounts do not duplicate. Select the account from the drop
    down for the account under “Account Nickname”. Leave the accounts that
    are new to Quicken as “New in Quicken”.

RECREATE ONLINE PAYMENTS IN QUICKEN
(Skip if you do not use bill pay in Quicken)

IMPORTANT: In this step you will need to enter your M&T Web Banking User ID and Passcode

Quicken 2010 and 2011:                                         Quicken 2009:
Choose Tools then Online Center                                Choose Online menu then Online Center.

A. Select M&T Bank from the Financial Institution drop-down list then Click the Payment tab.

B. Using the print out of recurring and future dated payments from earlier in the process,
   recreate your online payment then click Enter after the entry is complete then repeat until
   all online payments have been recreated.




C. Click Update/Send.
   In the Online Update make sure all items are checked then enter your Web Banking User ID and
   Passcode then click Update Now.




D. If new transactions display in the Online Update Summary window, accept them into your
   Quicken account register then click Done in the Online Update Summary window.


Bill Pay Tip:
The steps you follow in Quicken to create an
online bill payment have not changed. Your payment,
however, will now be debited from your account the day
the payment is sent. Please refer to the chart to the right.
